Hi - i'm new :)

I have just become obsessed with all things disney world, lol.
I had such an awesome trip (aug 27 to aug 31) and was soooo
depressed when I had to come back to NJ. Anyway I am planning
on taking another trip with my friend and I can't decide when and
possibly where to go. I also have no idea as to cost, etc since my
aunt planned the last trip so I'll have to figure all that out as well.
My main concern is that I'm stuck deciding between these three
times/places:

1. March 2007 WDW- because I believe the pirate event is going on then.
I could be wrong and it could be sold out (i don't know). I was lucky
enough to catch the "good" Captain Jack Sparrow in the pirate tutorial
show and would LOVE to get a picture with him and heard that it is
possible at the event. Is there any guarantee the "good" jack will be
there? Also is this event meant just for little kids?

2. December 2007 WDW - because it has to be magical during Christmas time
...the only thing is I might be holding out in case my aunt wants to go again
then (that would be awesome). Is the pirate ride open then?

3. May 2007??? DL - for the POTC movie premiere...although i don't
know when that is actually taking place and whether its worth it. If
I want to try to brave a crowd to see Johnny Depp I can try to
catch him when he comes to NY for Letterman or something.

What does everyone think? When would you go? Any advice?

Thanks a lot in advance.

All of the above?! :teeth:

I had a friend go to the premiere at DL and Johnny was so late that he practically ran down the red carpet. Not sure if that would happen again but you never know.

there is pirate and princess nights march 2,5, and 8. I'm not sure if they are sold out though.

we went in Dec and loved it. this is when we will return, gorgeous weather low crowds if you go before xmas, and the parks are beautiful! and yes Pirates of the Caribbean should be open. It reopened for the movie in early July.

I know that didn't really give you an answer but maybe it helped with some additional info.

We went to DL for the first time in June...and our last day was the red carpet premiere. My DH and DS went across to CA around 5:00--I grabbed a piece of pizza and got in the red carpet craziness around 5:30. I was probably 7 people from the front. By the time stars actually starting getting to my spot near the castle so many people gave up and left I was about 5 people back. It was fun to do once, but I wouldn't plan a trip around it. I gave up waiting for Johnny, Orlando, and Kiera around 8:30 (since I promised DH I'd be at the Electrical Parade with them at 8:45). As I walked down Main Street I actually got to see both Johnny and Orlando--never saw Kiera.

If you do go and pictures are important to you, stake out your spot as soon as the park opens. There were so many arms raising each time a star walked by it was impossible to know whether you caught them. I used my camcorder to record most of it and was able to see the flip screen, but I swear all the people taking pictures around me probably had 100s of arms in their pictures and no stars.

Thanks for the replies :)
I'm kind of changing my mind about the whole premiere thing
UNLESS it ended up in Florida somehow. I doubt it's worth waiting
until the last minute for to book a trip though.

I am now stuck between March - for a pirate party or around the
release of the pirate movie in May. As much I want to go during
Christmas it would be really sad if all the pirate stuff was gone by
then. I'm hoping there will be something going on for the movie...
even if just the pirate tutorials continue.

Welcome to the boards!!! :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I love going down after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas. Everything is decorated and just gets you in the mood for the holidays. There's the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT (AMAZING!!!), as well as the Winter Lights (it's an arch way that lights up and dances to holiday music at night). At the Magic Kingdom, there is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. At MGM there is the Osborne Lights and a special holiday parade at Animal Kingdom. Below are some pictures to show you what it looks like at WDW during that time of year.
