My DD (24) and I are going with my DS (12) and my DD's DD (1). We are planning on going to WDW in August. I was thinking of two rooms at AS, but may just stay in one room. I was also thinking of the family suite at ASMo. My DH may come with us, but right now I'm just planning the 4 of us. The site is down, so I can't really look at rates. I was also looking offsite (although I won't have a car). Does anyone know which would be a cheaper option?

We are onsite people so that's what I would recommend. With at least two adults and a tween I would go with either two values or a moderate. A big question would be whether or not the 12 year old would be ok sleeping with one of the adults. If not you would need two rooms to get three beds. The values have double beds if that is a consideration.

What about a preferred room at Por? You are guaranteed to have a drop down bed, so you'd have two queens and a pull down.

I'd get one room at a value for the cheapest onsite - Mom and daughter can sleep in one bed if the boy won't sleep with mom at that age. Toddler gets a pack and play or a bed rail to sleep with the boy. The All Stars tend to be the cheapest, but we prefer Pop Century.

What about AoA family suite, a bed room with a door, queen bed with a full bath, and pull down the 12 year old can sleep on and use the pull out for DD, either rent or bring a pack and play for the baby or You could let your DD in the bedroom and set the pack and play up in there so if she needs to take of the baby in the middle of the night it would be easier maybe not wake you and your son up. Kitchenette and a second full bathroom, really nice when everyone is getting dressed, and room for the baby to move around. We stayed at AoA and it was great, we stayed there on our girls only family trip, my DM, and DD and myself and it was soooo nice to have an extra bathroom and room for everyone's stuff.

With your trip planned for August which is hotter than hot and the humidity is miserable, you will want to spend some time in the pools, and relaxing out of the heat with the baby will be necessary. So some more room will be important also there are 2 TV with 2 kids different ages that might be another factor in your favor. Another thought with the baby, having a door so she can nap might be to your benefit, the parks are open late so taking a break mid-day would be great.

Make sure to keep the baby hydrated, really all of you will need to drink triple what you normally do. Water and sports drinks are a must, I would suggest your daughter talk to the pediatrician on drink choices for the baby.

I also thought about AoA. There are three distinct sleeping areas with one in a separate room. My 2 year old slept in the murphy bed with his older brother and we used the bed rails provided by Disney.

AOA suite is not cheap. It will be much cheaper to do 2 value rooms then an AOA suite.
