OK...... I don't have a clue!!

My little brother just booked a Disney cruise for this Feb. 2004.......

A couple of questions, he asked and I can't answer...

1. How is the weather on the cruise in Feb.?

2. Any clue how warm the water is for swimming at Castaway Cay in Feb.?

3. When the ship is in port, any activities open on the ship, pool, food, etc.?

This is my little brother, so I need to impress him!!

Thanks
Doug

We cruised last week of Feb last year and going again on 2/21 this year. The weather was cool leaving port but swimming weather everyday there after. Water was cool at CC but my 2 DS's swam in it all day. The weather was in the 80's all week with just a few clouds and 1 passing rain the 1st sea day. It was the Eastern as is this years.

Everything but the onboard stores are open/active. The kids clubs, resteraunts, movies etc. are all in operation while in port.

Which cruise are you on?

We have done 5 cruises in Jan/Feb...4 on DCL, one on another line...and we have a Feb. 2004 booked. 4 of the 5 have had wonderful weather. It was 80s during the day, 70s at night. I understand that this is typical for the carribean. One cruise, it was overcast and too cool for swimming, although it was very comfortable when the sun peaked thru. So...odds are that you will swim and enjoy. The water at Castaway is wonderful.

There is always food available on the ship. The activities on the ship are a little less on land days, although the kid areas are fully programmed. The pools are open. The spa is open, movies are showing, bars are open, etc. The "adult programming" series (sort of semi-educational presentations on entertaining, the ship, etc.) run on sea days only.

We cruised the eastern on the Magic last Feb. 8th. The weather was freezing when we left Port Canaveral, in the 50's (which is pretty unusual I think), but the next morning we woke up in gorgeous low 80 degree weather. The weather was perfect all week (with one short rainstorm on St. Maarten). Swimming in the ocean was warm in both St. Maarten and St. Thomas. When we got to Castaway Cay the weather was in the low to mid 70's and the water temperature was pretty chilly although we did swim most of the day. I think had we not been in the carribean just a day or two before, we wouldn't have not thought it was cold, but the Bahamas is quite a bit further north than St. Thomas or St. Maarten, so the water temp is colder. Have fun, and make the best of it no matter what the weather!

We were on same cruise as kajohn, and also the week previous! Cold at CC on 8th Feb, but almost melting temps in St. Thomas! The Western trip was even hotter! weather and the seas were almost perfect. Plenty to do all the holiday on board. Bliss. Nat:Pinkbounc
