For clothes, one word: Garanimals

It's the exclusive Wal-Mart line of clothes for infants and toddlers. Pieces range from $2-$5 and I love them for travel because they are comfortable and cute, but also expendable if disaster strikes. My little one is a boy so this is a link to the boys' line. I used the line for my daughter too. It goes from newborn to 5T.

http://www.garanimals.com/products-365boys.php

I have also shopped the Little Wonders.WonderKids line at KMart and Sears because they have nice Disney Themed clothing. Here, ds is wearing a Mickey Mouse short set I picked up at KMart.

When I packed for my son I generally packed 2-3 complete outfits per day. You can go with less if you think you'll be able to do laundry.

You'll need a nice hat, swim wear and I like for my children to wear water shoes back and forth to the pool as he doesn't like the feel of flip flops. My son prefers the bucket style hat to the baseball style cap. He also likes crocs, but I know they don't work for everyone. My daughter has really skinny feet and just walks right out of them. I tried the Mary Jane style and she had some irritation.

Sunscreen, sunscreen and more sunscreen.

I liked having plenty of his favorite snacks and drinks on the trip. When we flew I ordered from Garden Grocer. When we drove I brought them from home. Stuff like goldfish and Mots Tots apple juice. I kept milk in the hotel fridge. Those no-spill snack keepers come in handy if it's something small like goldfish. My son is holding his in this picture, wearing his Garanimals clothes and his Crocs.

I ordered that cup online, but Wal-Mart also carries one called the Munchkin Snack Catcher and I think it has a suction thing on the bottom to hold it in place.

I hope I was of some help. My son has gone at 2 and 3 in June.

I'm packing for my 2 yr old ds and 11 mth old dd for our Dec. trip. I'll be packing:

Sunscreen, sunhats, bathing suits, rash guards/swim shirt/swim cover up, swim shoes, mickey arm floaties, swim diapers, diapers, pull ups, t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, zip up hoodies, shorts, pants, socks, p.j.s, kids travel toothbrush set, cheap snack cup (so if they lose it, I don't care), backpack to use as a diaper bag. I'm bringing my double stroller and a rain cover to go over it. Favorite blankie/loveys. Snap straps for strollers to keep favorite lovey attached. And comfortable shoes for my 2 yr old, he prefers his tennis shoes so I'll have him wear those.

Food: Formula (I'll prob buy single serve packets for my 11 mth olds bottles just for convenience.) Some baby food but she's starting to eat some table food. Baby puffs. DS will eat what we eat.

Sunglasses, little notebooks and pens from the dollar store to put in your bag to occupy them, my daughter turned 2 on our last trip and squinkies during meals worked and small cars for my son a few trips ago when he turned 2, sippy cups especially for animal kingdom, put a outfit, diaper, wipes all in a gallon ziplock bags bring 2 per day then if clothes get dirty you have a bag to put them in, and maybe a sweatshirt incase it gets cool at night.

Medications in case of an emergency - I always have Benedryl and Ibuprofin packed. Also, my youngest needed his eczema meds packed too.

Toiletries - Ours had different sunscreen/shampoo/soap due to allergies.

Clothes - we always planned on washing clothes at least once during our trip. I didn't plan for 2-3 outfits a day, but one outfit plus two extras to take into the park - though they were rarely needed. Don't forget a hat.

Potty needs - If toilet trained, take some sticky notes to put over the sensor if your child is sensitive to it. If not, then diapers and wipes. Actually, wipes are needed even if potty trained for those sticky fingers/face.

Snacks - We used the snack size ziplock bags and brought in a few portions into the park. A perfectly timed snack can save the day! Also, don't forget a water bottle. (Or sippy/straw cup if your child uses one of those instead).

We have travelled a lot with DS who is almost 3. What I have found helpful is to keep a running list of everything that you use for your child over a weeks period. Obviously some of this stuff will not need to go, but if you have a certain lotion that you end up using a couple times a week you will want it on the list. One thing that I never travel without is childrens medicines. Having something on hand to handle a middle of the night fever or random allergic reaction is so nice. Also I write down the doses before I leave home and keep them with the medicine so you are not trying to find this while your LO is unhappy.

A lot of people pack children's clothes in a ziplock bag, so that each bag contains a full outfit. I did this when DS had a lot of matching outfits sets, but these days he has khaki pants/short & jean pants/shorts so I don't worry about him ending up with the wrong pants/shirt combo. I can see how this would be especially helpful for girls who have multiple pieces & accessories to go with each outfit. I do make up one ziplock bag with a complete outfit that stays with us at all times (I learned the hardway that this even necessary when driving as the last thing you want is to need a spare change of clothes when at a rest stop and you have to unpack the whole car to get to the suitcases).

Make sure to bring any security items that your child has (blanket, stuffed animal, binkies, ect).

Toy, binky, cup tethers can be awsome for ensuring that these items are not constanstly being thrown out of the carseat/stroller/carrier.

Depending upon your child's feeding abilities Take & Toss cups & utensils can be awesome because they can be washed in the sink and reused, but you don't need to feel bad if you just toss it in the trash. I always bring the plastic disposable placemats with us. They are small and don't take up any room, but can be very nice to use at busy restaurants when you wonder how yucky the table might be.

I should have also included that childrens clothing is small at this age and fairly easy to wash in a sink if you start to run out. I just use a little baby shampoo or hand soap and hang them on the shower rod to dry overnight. I do still plan a time to do laundry half way through, but this has come in handy when DS has been running low on something (or when he has thrown up on shirts and I didn't want them to sit & smell for days until I could wash them).

Stroller fan!!! I forgot mine and had to buy one down there. And favorite toys. Something to occupy them in the morning and at night. And I like the bracelets or ID tattoos for my piece of mind. I got these Who's shoes ID that just stuck to my DS's sandals with his name and my name and cell phone. Very easy to leave it on the shoe all week long. I got it on amazon.com.

I like the sunscreen sticks for there faces especially to easily reply at parks. I also packed my own snacks. Goldfish Cheerios. Things like that for munching around the park and in line.

I just bought a new package of wipes in the plastic huggies bin. Than I had a travel pack and just filled it as needed.

I can't think of anything else. But I recommend the stroller fan for sure. Than I got one of the Disney water fans for when he wasn't in his stroller. My kid sweats like crazy haha

Oh! The take and toss sippy cups are awesome.

And if the kiddo is potty trained or training try have this awesome fold up seat that travels and goes on top of the toilet seat. Mine was flat and folded up nicely to it in the day bag. He was in Pull ups when I took DS at two but we were trying to train so it was nice to have if needed.

When my kids were that age, I always packed a loaf of bread, jar of peanut butter, and a squeeze jelly to keep in the hotel room. My younger daughter especially always had a habit of falling asleep in restaurants. Or, they just didn't eat well at restaurants because they were out of their routine. It was nice to be able to make a PBJ when we got back to the room at night.

If you use similac I may have some $5 of coupons for you. Pm me if you're interested

All of these are amazing ideas, thanks y'all!! I have a habit of over packing, but I'm a first time mom, better to bee prepared, right?

We now pack a tummy bug kit. It has extra PJ's (we threw a pair away one night), a roll of paper towels and an extra box of wipes, pedialite, and a few easy to eat foods like plain crackers and apple sauce).

We also take any medications we could possibly ever need. You can get whatever you need, but on site is a much higher cost and who wants run out for tylenol at 2 am!

We do not over pack clothes, but always have two pairs of shoes. PLENTY of sun screen, fun snacks , sippy cups, a really good stroller, a plan for where he will sleep in the hotel, any comfort items, books for bed time stories and a few toys for down time at the hotel. Take the same hygiene products he uses at home.

As a mom of 4, (now 21, 17, 13, and 13), I have found that it's always better to be over prepared!!!;)

Over packing is the norm. It took me until my daughter was 5 and quite a bit of traveling not to over pack her clothes. I still over pack snacks on trips where I take them.

Then once I felt like I had it I had another baby :rotfl: Thankfully their clothes don't take up much room at this age, especially when it is warm.

Here's our stuff before I loaded the van for our first vacation after ds was born. We went to the beach for 6 nights. It was me, my dd who was 7 and my son was 5 months old.

I like buying $1 travel sized toiletries before a trip. Target usually has the best variety and I got a nice first-aid kit there for $2 as well. Thankfully I have only had to open it once, when dd got a splinter at the zoo. I just take the meds we have around here already.

I hope you have a great trip.

The one thing I always pack for my kids that isn't listed is a funtainer.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0033...qid=1384626517&sr=8-12&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

Stay cold all day and does not leak.

I love my stroller hooks to hang stuff from the stroller. I took a few reusable grocery bags and threw them on the bottom of the stroller everyday so I would have them at the end of the day for all of the stuff we managed to accumulate. Made it quick to break the stroller down.

My kids always prefer crocs to tennis shoes in the parks. Make sure you have 2 bathing suits so you have. dry one if one is wet.

Love these ideas! I need to start getting everything together we leave in 12 days!! SO excited.. :) we will see how the plane trip goes ;)
