Hi everyone,

I'm hoping I can get some advice.

Right now I'm trying to plan a last minute (to us) trip to WDW in October for MNSSHP. I'd like to use Southwest if possible because we may be staying at the Campgrounds and this will give us the ability to check a few bags with our tent, flashlights, etc. without having to pay any extra baggage fees.

A few days ago, fares were $59 each way non-stop from Philadelphia (about 30 minutes from us). DH hasn't been approved off of work yet, so we didn't book and now they are up to $99 each way, which is just not an option since we will be going again in December.

Baltimore has $67 each way on Southwest right now. It's 2 hours from where we live, but we'd be willing to drive if we needed to.

So---to make a long story short, would you wait for Philadelphia fares to go back down or book now while Baltimore is low? I'm not familiar with SW and don't know if they release lower fares/have sales often, or if once they start to go up---they don't come back down. If we can't get airfare for like $175 each of less, we're going to be driving 34 hours in 3 days---something DH is not looking forward to.

Thanks for any input!!

Ann

I think the fares might come down, but sometimes when they do, there are not a lot of seats left on the flights for the days you are traveling. In other words, sometimes I think they lower the fares to get the planes filled up. However, SWA does permit changes without any charges and that includes credits. You would be able to get a credit if the fare decreases.
