Help - new user

I start at the Discussion Home Page and login. After browsing the boards for a while using the jump to arrows, when I try to submit a reply to a thread, I get a message that I'm not logged in (even though the bottom of the page says that I may reply and may post threads). I have to go back to the homepage and login again, then go back to the thread to reply. If I go back to the Homepage after replying, I'm logged out again. This has happened to me 3 times on three different days. What am I doing wrong? I've never participated in a discussion board before so I guess I just don't know what I'm doing. Can someone help?

First, welcome to the DIS boards.

Second, click on this to go to Edit Options. Make sure that you've clicked "Yes" for both Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies) and Browse board with cookies? Then click the "Submit Modifications" button at the bottom and see if that helps.
