A little back story. In-laws DVC. So, I am just starting to learn all the ins and outs of DVC. My in-laws are in their 80’s and mainly used their DVC for cruises and family vacations. Never really learned a lot of the details. So I have A LOT to learn.
We booked our Sept 2022 stay back in Oct 2021 (11 months, BLT home resort).
We put a waitlist for an extra night in Sept in March 2022.
In the meantime, my in-laws were in the process of adding myself and my husband’s names to 2 of their 4 deeds/contracts.
We received our “Welcome Home” email March 22, 2022. Points showed up a week or so later.
In-law’s account looked good. Everything was accurate – Points were correct – used/remaining/ready to bank.
Recently, our waitlist for Sept came through, so we contacted Disney to “merge” the reservations to have one reservation #. Took about a week.
Now when we look at my In-laws account (which has 2 membership numbers now because of adding us to only 2 of their 4 deeds/contracts), the points are all messed up. They are missing 254 points from one of their contracts.
Our original reservation was using Dec UY 2020 banked and current Dec UY 2021 points from BLT. 260 points.
Our BLT Waitlist was using Dec UY 2020 banked SSR points. 35 points.
I need to go through everything line by line, but it looks like when they merged our reservations, they changed things and took most of the points necessary for our whole stay (295) from their current Dec 2021 UY SSR points (they had 300 intending to bank). But they didn’t return the banked/current BLT points. In essence they were “charged" double points.
Is this because in between everything we did the switch over, and they now have two membership numbers and it messed things up? Is there a way to fix this? Or are they screwed because they did the deed change?
We did print everything out before the changeover, so we knew what they “should” have after the changeover.
They should have 131 BLT points to bank and 300 SSR points to bank. They are currently showing 131 BLT tower points eligible to bank and only 46 SSR points eligible to bank.
Does anyone have any advice as to IF we can even fix this and if we can, how should we approach this?
Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to think that our one night waitlist merge screwed my in-laws out of a lot of points.
