Help Needed - Writing A Thank You Note

The president of our local pro hockey team is a member at the country club I work at. Being a big fan, I knew exactly who he was on sight. Wednesday night I struck up a conversation with him about the rule changes & after a bit he offered some tickets for the staff (certainly not my intent in the conversation) & gave me his office number.

Today (Monday) I picked them up (8 tickets for 2 games) & they are great seats (worth $135 a piece). His secretary was my contact & she was extremely friendly.

My "thank you" note writing skills are pretty rusty. :(
Should I write one for him & her? Would my Disneyland attraction poster notecards work or should I get something else? Should I write it after the games (to mention the enjoyment) or before? And finally any suggestions on the content of the letter?

How soon are the games? I wouldn't wait too long before sending the thank you notes. If you send them before the game just say how much the tickets are appreciated by all and that everyone is looking forward to attending.

I would definitely buy a nice thank you card and not use the Disney ones.

The first game is this Wednesday, the second is Saturday.

I would probably mail the card on the following Monday and like you said mention how much you enjoyed the games and how much the tickets were appreciated.

If you feel the secretary needs a thank you, I would send separate ones as I think the owner deserves a card of his own for his gesture, just my opinion.

I would wait until after the games since they are so soon. Do you have some note cards from the golf course that you could use so he can associate the letter with the people? I wouldn't send them on Disney note cards. If you don't have something from the club, just get some plain thank you cards from the store. I would send one to the president since he is the one that gave you the gift, but mention how helpful his secretary was in the note.

Well, I don't know his secretary's full name. I'll likely send one, but I'm definitely going to mention my appreciation of his secretary as well.
