HELP NEEDED - WL QUESTION

hi Everyone

We are leaving for disney this saturday,9/21, and are staying at the WL. Right now we have a standard room, which i believe overlooks a parking lot! Does anyone know if they take upgrade requests upon checkin? Do they do this for free, or is there an additional charge? We would like to get a room with a better view. What would be the most reasonable request?

Yes, they do take upgrade requests upon check in. We upgraded to the concierge level when we checked in for our vacation in June. I'm sure there is an extra charge to upgrade your room, but I'm not sure what it would be.

I wouldn't worry about being booked into a standard. We have stayed at WL many times and have had every view and I have decided that we are never in the room enough to really worry with the view. Don't know if you have stayed at WL before, but if not, I can assure you that there are so many nice places to hang out in the lodge that you shouldn't worry about the standard view vs. courtyard, etc. There is a large public balcony overlooking the courtyard, you can also go out on the roof above the main entrance, the lobby is incredible and you can have a wonderful time sitting in it especially on the 4th and 5th floors that have the little sections with the sofas. Great place for a late night card game and you can watch the people come clean the lobby from way up high. LOL The beach is also a great place to take in the EWP. So don't fret about the view - just have a great time. Also - standards open onto the lobby and you can avoid the long treks down the hallways.
