We have Dine With Shamu booked but I'm not sure exactly what to expect! Can anyone tell me how this meal fits in with the Believe show? Do you get VIP seats to watch the show? Do you stay at your tables? Or do you have to leave the dinner and go into the normal Believe seating? Does the meal finish in time to watch Believe? From the site it says that Dine With Shamu is at 4.15pm and the Believe show is at 5.30pm.

You will eat your meal and Shamu will swim around the area by the tables. Right after you eat you go to where the show is and sit in regular seating. Yes, you will finish on time for the show. It's a lot of fun. I rebooked to do it again this year. You will love it!

We enjoyed it but it's very rushed to eat and have time to get to the show. Show up early for dinner if at all possible to give yourself a bit more time.

We found it was too rushed to enjoy eating and at that price you want to enjoy the food too.

Yes, and early = about 4:15 pm. We were late to the dinner (tried to get over from Discovery Cove and arrived about 5 pm) and they wouldn't let us in, it was over according to the CM. I was able to get a refund (which surprised me) - just be prepared to have dinner very early on that day.

It is very fun. You dine and then as the pp said you go over to see Believe. ALthough the day we were there the whale had given birth a few hours before so believe was cancelled for us. This may be why we didn't feel rushed. And we got a small sneak peek of the baby :goodvibes. It was great and I would do it again.

Oh wow, what an amazing experience!

I'm hoping to book this for my next vacation. Is it easy to get a booking for?

Does anyone know how it compared to the Backstage at Believe dinner which is quite a bit cheaper?

Backstage at Believe is for lunch only, and there is no guarantee that any whales will be there. The trainers will NOT be there since they are getting ready for the show.

Dine with Shamu is a dinner, and both the trainers and whale will be there.

Food is really yummy, and nothing compares to having a beautiful whale swim next to you while you eat!!

Hope that helps!

How far in advance do you have to book this? We are heading down in March, should I call now?? Also do you have to pre-pay for the dinner when you book it?? Thanks

I'm not sure how far you can book if you call. I know on the website everything is stuck at 12-31-08 forever and hasn't changed. Maybe if you call the 1-800-327-2424 reservation number they might can tell you if you can book over the phone with them. If you find out any info, please post it here.

Thanks, I'm off today and will call and give you all the info, when I get it.

:)

Ok just got off the phone with Seaworld, the lady was very nice and knew alot. The dine with Shamu can be booked up to 6 months inadvance as long as the schedule and pricing is out. So for March the pricing isn't out yet until around the middle of November or early December. They give you 1 1/2 hours to eat the meal while the interaction with the whale and trainer is going on. You must pay for the dinner inadvance ALL. If the show is cancelled you get a full refund back. Even if you need to change dates or cancel yourself you can get a refund. I also mentioned about a rush for dinner due to the believe show going on. She mentioned that if you want to watch the show you can and you usually get about 1 1/2 hours to eat and then head to the show. The one thing I didn't know and she explained was the Believe show is on numerous times during the day and you can go to it anytime so your dinner isn't rushed eg: watch the believe show before the dinner. She said alot of people get confused with the dine with shamu and the rock dinner and show??? Hope this helps!!!

Oh great info!!! Thanks for letting us know. Yeah, I knew that the Believe show was on at different times of the day. The Dine with Shamu is just an experience I don't think we can pass up. To be that close to a killer whale should be so wonderful. :goodvibes

Ok so at the begining of the year, I can book my April trip's dinner. That's perfect time anyways. Got to love tax time. :rotfl:
