Hello Wonderful Disigners - We are planning a Christmas morning surprise trip for my children (DD9, DS4) - we leave for the airport Christmas day and return 01/04/09. I have struggled with how to tell them about this surprise trip but Ive settled on a - Fake - Countdown Calendar.
The idea is that Im going to wrap the calendar as their "big gift". The top page of the calendar will be a letter I have written about our gift and after DD rips off the top page - there will be a page that says _____ days until disney. At that point Im going to make a big "ta-do" about it not being right - "we leave sooner than that" I will then tell DD to keep ripping off pages until we get to the right number and then we will put it back together.
I want each page to have a nonsensical number (like 1,234 days to disney, 10days to disney etc) or silly picture that increasingly doesnt make sense. I envision it feeling like the whole calendar was messed up at the printer - or even better - villans got to it and made a mess out of it.
If some of you would be willing to make a 8 x 10.5 page or 2 that basically says "___ days until disney" with pictures, you would really help me out. They dont need to be cohesive as DH and I are going to do the supportive acting. It would be nice if there were disney clip art images - The last page will say something like - "0 days" and I will just tell her - I guess we have to do what the calendar says - We will leave today!
Other facts that may help the creative juices:
DD's birthday is during the trip and she has already told me she would like to go bowling that day.
We havent been since 2002
We arent really emphasizing the Christmas element - its more about - DD birthday and DS's first trip to disney.
DD still really likes princesses - DS loves playhouse disney.
Im really good with balloons but just average when it comes to photoshop - it will take me a long time to do what Im asking - I would be very appreciative for any help you are willing to give.
