I am arranging our own air transportation for the 7 day Western. We have transfers to airport via DCL.
I just called Disney and they advise return flights from Orlando at 12:30 PM or later.
Booking an 11 AM flight would save 5 of us significant amount of money.
Can this be done? What is the earliest that immigration clears the ship and you can get off the boat? What's the latest you would be off the boat?
Thanks!

I don't know what the latest is that you would be off the ship. However, an 11am flight should not be a problem at all. Many here have done it. Last time we debarked we were back to WDW by 9am. We had our own rental car. Since you are using Disney transfers this can cause a delay. I would just make sure you are at the beginning of the line to debark.

BTW, is there a significant reason you are using DCL transfers? You would save a significant amount of money using a limo service. In addition, you don't have the worry of waiting for your bus. Just a suggestion. Good luck I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hmmmm...I wouldn't risk that one myself. That is cutting it WAY too close for my comfort zone. We were off the ship pretty early, but didn't get back to the airport until after noon.

I don't think I would want the stress and worry and time watching, and...sheesh! I'm getting stressed out just thinking about it! I think the expense might be worth the peace of mind. That being said, I am basing my experience with disembarking on our cruise 3 years ago. Things may have changed a lot since then.

Good luck--sorry I couldn't provide a more positive response!

Thanks for your help.

We are using DCL transfer because my husband likes getting off the plane in Orlando and not having to worry about picking up our luggage at baggage claim. Maybe I can convince him otherwise.

Is there anyone out there using DCL transfers who has been able to make an 11AM flight?

I know people on this board have done it, but like goodfaerie I wouldn't want the pressure. With security at the airports like it is today, they want people at the airport 2 hours before your domestic flight is scheduled to depart. I would just be a stressball:hyper: and I wouldn't want to end a vacation like that.

If you do get a towncar or rental, 11AM is not unreasonable. Be sure to get assigned to the early dining slot. Then you can have a nice breakfast at 6:45 (or whatever) and be off the boat by 8:00.

Anything earlier than 11:00 would be tricky though.
