We haven't been to WDW in several years, and when we usually go we usually drive. This year we would like to fly, the problem is that we have 7 of us. So, we obviously need the cheepest rates possible. I need every little tip, suggestion, and anything else possible to help me get the best rates possible.

As a fellow NE Ohioan I can tell you the most important tip for getting cheap airfare...... Don't fly out of CLE. Check DTW and CMH.

I am flying out of CMH in May for $140 RT per person before taxes. This includes a 15% off code from Visa for Southwest.

Airtran out of CAK has some good pricing too.

There are six of us flying so I feel your pain. :flower3:

One big difference price wise I found was not limiting yourself to flying only on the weekend. The cheapest days seem to be Tuesday and Wednesdays. I suppose it depends on who you are flying with though.

We're also driving 10 hours to fly out of another airport versus our home airport with is only 45 minutes away. We ended up saving over $2K just in flights!!

Also don't just search for round trip prices. I booked our way done one week then a few weeks later booked our return. I was willing to go with whoever was cheapest non-stop (didn't want to get into changing plans with 6 of us). It turned out in the end it was with the same airline.

Best of luck! :)

Would a few of you consider opening a Southwest Airlines credit card account? They're offering 2 free round trip tickets after the card is used 1 time. There is a $59 annual fee - but you could cancel after the first year, if you wanted to. For $59 that's quite a savings! Here's a link for the application:

And here's another link for airline ticket info:

Good luck and happy travels.

Do your looking on a Tuesday!

Do your booking for a Tuesday.

Don't try to book early for the sake of booking early.

Except for ultra-popular dates, wait for a sale instead of buy at their everyday low price.

I always get the best rate going to the airline website directly.

We are basicly in the same boat, there are 5 of us, we normally drive, but this is our 10th anniversary and my 40th birthday trip, I want to fly (I normally do all the driving). I have been looking the last 2 weeks, the rates are better on Tuesday/Wednesday. We are waiting for my work bonus or our tax refund to get here in order to book our tickets, should be able to book next week, right now they are about $250 rt which isn't bad I don't think.
