Hi Everyone,
I apologize if these questions have been asked before but our family is meeting for a planning session tonight for our May 2015 trip to an OKW GV, and I need your help - please!!
1. Does the fourth bathroom (the one downstairs for the persons who are sleeping in the living room) have a hair dryer? I can't tell from the youtube videos.
2. Is it easy to move the sleeper chair in the living room? We were thinking of either sliding it around the corner into the dining room area or moving it into the master bedroom? Some of us have been in a 2BR before, but we've never moved the sleeper chair. I'm assuming that since they were able to get it through the front door of the villa that it can get through the door of the master bedroom easily? Not sure though.
3. Is Building 63 the only building with a GV that has elevator access? And, is the GV in Building 63 handicapped accessible - e.g., roll-in-shower. We are going to require that and we have made a request for that. Should I call the special Disney number for persons with disabilities to try to guarantee this building? Are there other GVs that are handicapped accessible and close to the HH?
4. Does OKW provide a gate for the top of the stairs, or should we bring one from home? And, does OKW provide bed-rails?
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

If it doesn't you can request one from housekeeping.
2. Is it easy to move the sleeper chair in the living room? Don't know. If you are thinking of sliding it, I would bring some of those furniture sliders to make it easier and keep from damaging the flooring.
Yes. And, is the GV in Building 63 handicapped accessible - e.g., roll-in-shower. Call the resort directly, or inquire from the special assignments dept. They will know for sure. I would expect one bathroom to be completely HA. We are going to require that and we have made a request for that. Should I call the special Disney number for persons with disabilities to try to guarantee this building? Yes. Most definitely call and have the special assignments dept. block the room for you. Are there other GVs that are handicapped accessible and close to the HH? No. The other HA GV is in building 48.
4. Does OKW provide a gate for the top of the stairs, or should we bring one from home? I read OKW will provide this but some adults found them difficult to open. Someone posted using the ironing board instead... I would bring one from home, if possible. And, does OKW provide bed-rails? OKW does provide bedrails. You must request them from housekeeping.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

Thanks Disbug! Very helpful. Do you know the special assignments department phone number? I couldn't find anything when I tried to google it. I appreciate the help.

You are welcome! ;)
Try: (407) 939-7807 or (407) 560-2547 (Disability Services)
Also, (407) 939-1936 is listed on Disney Website for booking an accessible room.

All OKW GV are two levels (second and third floors) and the second level is not elevator accessible. You need to bring your own gate or rent one (we did). You are NOT supposed to move that sleeper chair. It's extremely heavy and people have stated that it will NOT go through the doorway. You could move into the dining room, no privacy and tons of windows (with blinds). There is one other handicapped GV, Not by HH and the first level is on the first floor, still only interior steps to get to the second level. Only the master bedroom is handicapped, none of the upper levels.

Please don't move the sleeper chair. It is really heavy and should not be moved. You are going to transition from hardwood to carpet going to the master bedroom. You won't want to lift that chair and try to squeeze it through the doorway. We just left it in the living room when we had an OKW GV a few years ago.
