Hey Fellow DISers!

Myself, my best friend and her boyfriend are going to WDW in February. He wants a character breakfast. I am usually a signature restaurant/sit down/no counter kinda gal. I usually avoid character breakfasts due to the high noise level and lower food quality but for "The Bob" I will do anything.

So, I need your help. We all love the characters. What is the best breakfast for character interaction? What is the best food? Is there one that has both?

I really appreciate your input!

You probably couldn't go wrong with any of them, but most people seem to like either Crystal Palace (Pooh and gang) or Chef Mickey's (Mickey and gang). We really liked the food and interaction at CP, especially with a late seating. Haven't tried CM for breakfast yet. Have fun!

We enjoyed the Crystal Palace when we visited last year. We had an early PS (8:15) and were able to walk down Main Street practically by ourselves - very cool. Our breakfast was really quite good and how can you be unhappy when you're having breakfast with Pooh, Piglet and Tigger :goodvibes

Minnies Beach Party at Cape May at the Beach Club.

My pick would be Cape May at the Beach Club. We think the food there is the best of any character breakfast! Plus, the atmosphere is a lot quieter and more laidback than most of the others. We thought the character interaction was wonderful, and it was fun to see them all in their beach attire!

We loved 'Ohana - you get Mickey!!!! The food is served in a skillet, so it isn't a buffet, but you can have all you want. It was quiet, compared to other breakfasts. Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Mickey in Hawiian clothes. You gotta love it!

The pineapple bread is delicious.

Another vote for Cape May. Much quieter than some of the others and great character interaction.

CP gets my vote. The food is great. It's just my DH and I and we go there at least twice each trip. It is our favorite breakfast on property. Pooh & the gang is just icing on the cake - adults & kids can join the Pooh parade. It is lots of fun! If you decide to try the CP, be sure to try the puffed french toast. It is my favorite. They also have great made to order omlettes, fruit, muffins, waffles, pancakes, etc. Servers keep bringing freshly squeezed OJ to your table. Just talking about it makes me hungry. May I will make ADR's for three breakfasts at CP this trip. :)

I know there are many naysayers, but we have done Donald's twice and really enjoyed it

First time there were six of us, 5 adults (40-65) and one child (3.5) and we all had a blast. Last November, DH and I took my BIL. I think the key is to get an early PS. We get the earliest we can (8 AM), which gets us into AK before rope drop and done with breakfast before the crowds build.

Wonderful variety, everything is hot (or cold as the case may be) and fresh, great servers who do some cute things, and the characters are in themed costumes.

We go in the off season and have never felt rushed or neglected by the characters.

While it was first ever Disney trip, we have nothing to compare it to, but, we had Chef Mickey's and Donald's and liked them both. Both were fun, both had good, abundant, freshly prepared food. The only con to Donald's is the trek across the park you have take to reach the restaurant (it's in Animal Kingdom, in Dinoland).

Though, I would happily visit both again!

breakfast at Cindy's castle is got to be top choice. Not laid back though, but "The Bob" might enjoy having breakfast with his princess with some other princesses. . .on that same note Princess Story Book Breakfast in Norway at Epcot. . .easier to get a ressie there. . .good luck. . .

I thought the food at 1900 Park Faire was the BEST for breakfast (LOVE that Strawberry Soup!!!!!), but I didn't think the character interaction was that great. We also do Donald's Breakfastosaurus, but an earlier time - less people, and more character interaction.

I thing Cindy's Breakfast and Ohana's are really nice for a couple. I went with my fiance and @ cindy's breakfast the character interaction was fabulous, all of the characters stopped and spoke to us for a while before posing for pictures, plus the ambiance is very romantic. Ohana's is very laid back and sweet.

While all of th meals are good, at 1900 park fair the environment is more 'upscale', not as noisy and more comfortable to eat, yet still see the charecters.

Thanks everyone! Since now all the Norway seatings are Princess meals and we were going there for dinner anyway - we have our Princess fix. I understand it takes an act of congress and intervention of the Gods to get a breakfast ressie at Cindy's so I'm not even trying. Don't want to take a seat from a sweet little girl who would cry if she couldn't go. We are our own Princesses, we will live.

The Bob has narrowed it down to either Ohanas or Crystal Palace. Now have to decide between those two. (I personally love Mickey and am afraid of a little Pooh for breakfast.. :rotfl2: ..OK, I'll stop. I love Pooh but I couldn't resist.)

I am guessing that the characters, led by Pooh, parade around the restaurant. Perhaps napking waving is involved. I'm guessing. Can anyone out there who has seen it please enlighen us?

I'd vote for Crystal palace as you can get eggs/omlets made the way you like them (they've not been sitting in a pan under a light for an hour). I'm not sure if you can get this at other character breakfasts but it's a main feature that I like at CP.

tricia.

Another vote for CP here... being in a nearly empty MK is an awesome experience and the Breakfast Lasagna is delicious!!!

Mike :goodvibes

I haven't done 'Ohana for breakfast, but of the others listed above, I really liked the food (strawberry soup) for the upscale dining feeling at 1900 Park Faire, Crystal Palace for great character interaction and breakfast lasagna, and Donald's Breakfastosaurus for Donald! That's DH's name, too so he often says we have to go. Cape May also has good food, only Minnie, Goofy, and Chip for characters, but in beach clothes. Now it's not character dining, but I love Boma for breakfast.
