Help needed - Cheap Flights anywhere?

Hi,

We are looking to go to Disney next summer and are happy with the price of the hotels but we cannot find any flights under £850. If we could get these to around £500 each like we paid before we would be booking but the extra £1000 on top is too much for us.

Please help with all different flight companies/websites and tricks to bring the costs down. Although we flew direct before we don't mind flying indirect if we can get the cost down.

There really aren't any 'tricks' or such to getting cheaper airfare. It is what it is. Air travel is getting to be expensive lately. We got spoiled by those nice, low fares. Oil prices help drive costs up for instance.
Just keep checking on various sites.

I'm not familiar with UK (assuming, based on your currency) sites, but in the US, sites like Kayak.com are good for comparing flights/airlines/dates/travel sites. You should also set up price alerts, e.g. Kayak will send alerts on specific routes/times showing lowest fare. Some sites will alert when a specific price is reached (Yapta.com)

Another thing to consider, although I find Orlando (MCO) to generally be the cheapest, is to consider another airport: Tampa (TPA) is about 1-1/2 hours away by car, Sarasota (SRQ) about 2 hrs, Jacksonville (JAX) or Ft Myers (RSW) about 3 hrs, Fort Lauderdale (FLL) or Miami (MIA) closer to 4. I am not familiar with Sanford airport in Orlando (SFB), but some airlines and charters fly into it.

When you go is also a factor."Summer" is a broad swath of time, and early summer--mid-late June- can be cheaper than going in JulyAugust. Also, if you can do early September, that may be better. (Not sure if you have kids and what their school calendar is).

I'm sure others will suggest more/better things, but these can help get you started. Good luck!

I'm also looking for decent international fares, although I'm going the other way, to Ireland. Friends in Ireland suggested SkyScanner and getawayasap.com I don't know if either of those will help with GB to MCO, but it's worth a shot.
