Here's the question...

What's best bang for buck for a TS meal for dinner that I can still get into at this late notice that's not too stuffy for 3 small kiddos?? Leaving Jan 2, dinner will be Jan 5.

Here's the reason for question...

Budget has gotten tight now that there's a week to go [and DH has suddenly gotten involved, ugh!]. I had us paying kids out of pocket for 3 TS breakfasts, etc.

So the first night we were going to do Hoop de Doo now I'm thinking might be better to free those credits up.... gives us 10 back...

We are doing Cindy's breakfast [thankfully while it's still 1 TS] and O'hana's Breakfast [my dad is very excited about this one...he loves Stitch].

We are doing Chef Mickey's Dinner and Mama Melrose' Fantasmic package.

I'm also going to cancel Donald Breakfast @ AK to free up more TS [we were going to pay for kids out of pocket]....

We also received 2 planet hollywood vouchers so we can do the first night and just pay kids out of pocket. I'm thinking of using TSs for everyone for the meals instead of trying to get best bang for $ by paying cash for kids when really it might be best just to not spend any extra $ if possible, does that make sense?

Whispering Canyon at WL
Boma at AK
Grand Floridian Cafe

Any of these nice? Thanks.

Is there a nice place at epcot besides Coral Reef which is 2 TS [sounds neat though].

I would cancel Hoop De Doo to free up your credits.

LeCellier in Epcot is one credit and has excellent food.

Whispering Canyon is GREAT!! We ate there for breakfast and dinner in 2004, and everything was wonderful.Good value for your TS credits.

is there anything for kids to do while we're there exploring?

I was also thinking BOMA for the animal factor but we're going to AK sometime during our stay...

Epcot might be fun too....

so many choices! ;o)

mgiht be fun for the kiddos....I'm going to book it later today so any other thoughts??

Also, I had to plan meals before the hours came out so I'm missing out on all the extra morning hours [evening doesn't matter because my kids will be too tired].... is that a big deal?

Oh well...I'm sure I'll learn a lot from this first trip.

None of the 2 credit TS restaurants are a good deal if you're on a budget. A CS meal at Pepper Market could easily be a dinner. Have at least some breakfasts in your room.

Read the fine print on your PH vouchers. I'm not sure but you may only be able to use one party.

Le Cellier may be a tough reservation to get. Consider Chefs D France. The food court in the Land is a great CS choice. About the best desserts you can get on the plan. Places like the Pepper Market limit your desserts.

Try not to stress - the first trip is so special, especially for the kids!

If you end up going to WL, stop at the front desk/guest relations counter and ask for the sheet of hidden Mickeys that are all over the lodge. My kids loved doing that when they were younger. CMs will help them if they get stuck and it's like a treasure hunt.

Have a great trip!

we just got back and wcc was a disappointment while
kona cafe
le cellier
donalds breakfast at AK
were all great and only 1

If you want something fun at EPCOT, try Biergarten. It is a buffet, which I love with kids, no waiting for food to cook :) They have the regular kids buffet choices (mac and cheese, chicken fingers, etc.) and the German food is very good, with lots fo salads, sausage, rotisserie chicken, and yummy pretzel bread to name a few items. There is a very entertaining show to watch (and particpate in) on the half hour as you eat. An oompah band, very fun, playing really interesting instruments, will have everybody clapping and laughing. You can even polka on the dance floor, our kids loved this. For a romantic dinner, this isn't your choice, but for a fun family dinner, we don't miss it! :goodvibes

also considering Biergarten....

I thought the aquarium would entertain the kiddos and I was able to get 7:30 so gives us an hour after dinner to find a spot before Illusions, which starts at 9:30.

Maybe I'll let my parents decide this one as I've planned the whole trip.

DH's sudden involvement has been a little frustrating but it'll save us $$ in the end so it's all good.

We loved Whispering Canyon and Le Cellier. We really enjoyed the food at both and the atmosphere at Whispering Canyon is so much fun for the entire family.
