Frustrating to say the least...I see that Expedia and Orbitz and everyone under the son has concierge level open....guaranteed but still...any one have this happened? We are in a balcony now..but when I booked I told her to get me the best room balcony..ended up with 246 feet versus the 299...I had to ask her about that today.

Your TA can change you into a concierge stateroom if that's what you'd prefer. I'm a little confused you are seeing a "guaranteed" concierge stateroom? I don't look for that level room often, but I haven't heard of them selling as GTY or *GT. What is the cruise date? If it's a *GT offer, you must be within the penalty phase so you'll have to decide if the penalty of cancelling the current reservation is worth the upgrade. If you are not yet within the penalty phase, it should be fairly simple for your TA to upgrade you to the concierge room.

Enjoy your cruise!

I think OP is saying there are Concierge rooms available, not that they are at a reduced price. I just check the cruise, and there's one (#12502) available on the DCL website.

Maybe other travel sites have a default for those last rooms (calling them "guarantee"), but they really aren't that type of booking.

Actually, DCL itself will book you into a concierge GTY. We unknowingly did this in November when we booked our next cruise onboard. We requested and paid for concierge and I didn't think anything about not getting a room # at the time. Got home and checked the reservation to see if we liked the room location and it said to call as we had booked GTY and had no room assignment. Called DCL and they confirmed GTY status but they hold back the handicap rooms so no need to worry. We have since been assigned a room:worship:

I guess that makes sense, all the other categories go "GTY" once so many have booked. I never thought of it with concierge. When I first read this, I really was thinking OP was reporting a discount but probably just GTY -- in which case the TA can still move their reservation if they so desire. :)

"Best room balcony" doesn't necessarily imply concierge to me. Concierge has services that non-concierge rooms don't even when they're pretty much the same size so I wouldn't assume that someone asking me for the best balcony room would necessarily want to pay for the upcharge to concierge. Having said that, it may not have been available when you booked. People do cancel. When we booked one of our cruises, we wanted a Cat 5A and it wasn't available; had to settle for Cat 5B. A couple of months later there were plenty of Cat 5A's available. Just ask her to switch to the available concierge one.

Thank you everyone. When I originally booked it with her she said the concierge level was 8k..which I didn't want to do and the best balcony was a 246 ft...so we took that. I went on disneycruise.com and I saw it opened and the larger rooms.

I'm so confused here! :rotfl: Are you switching to a concierge room or a larger room? Or both? :confused3:goodvibes

Sorry everyone...both options were open. I would take a larger room. We had the room with 299 sq last time..now somehow we are in a room with 246 sq feet.
