Help...need some planning tips

I haven't been on the Dland boards in a long time...need some quick help....

first...how is the Dland Hotel renovation going??? I would love to see the new rooms but would not want to book here if they are not done. We LOVE GCH and that is prob where we will stay in Sept

why book a package over just hotel/tix.....its $15 less for the package....any other reason why I should do one over the other???
does anyone know the cancel policy on packages? do I lose money?

how far in advance can we do Dining ressies??? dworld is 180 days....not sure about dland

when does the HM go down for xmas overlay?? I do NOT want to miss HM..its my fav oh same with IASW

I will help where I can. I havent stayed at the on-site hotels. You can make dinner reservations 60 days in advance. So feel free to call them 2 months early.

The HM overlay goes up before halloween actually. It will be up the third weekend in September I believe. Check the halloween thread for more info.

DLH is undergoing major renovation. From what I've read, Dreams tower is going to be finished soon. The other two towers haven't been started yet. It sounds like they may start working on major pool and restaurant changes as early as August.

Packages sometimes have "extras" such as ToonTown Morning Madness tickets, preferred seating for shows like Aladdin and Turtle Talk, and a "free" souvenir. For myself, I don't think these are things worth spending money for, so I would price everything out separately too and go with whichever way is cheaper.

HM was down 2 weeks last year for overlay. HalloweenTime begins at the resort Sept. 17 this year, so I would expect HM to be down approximately Sept. 2-16. IASMW usually goes down toward the end of October.

Well...it looks like HM will be down...boo hoo...oh well

DLH - that is out...no way do I want to stay with construction work going on...we are going to stay at the GCH

The package is $15 cheaper....but I am not sure what the cancellation policy is after you pay in full 30 days from the trip...just curious.
we are not interested in the toontown madness or the lanyard/pin....
