First thanks for reading.
Okay here it goes.
My DD's boyfriend is in the Navy and is waiting for flight school. We have planned a family and friends vacation this summer, I have already paid for us to go (hotel, park hopper and DXDDP)- DH, DD and Me. Now she wants him to go with us. This is her birthday trip.
Now here is where it gets tricky>:confused3
He does not know when he will class up for school, apparently they don't know until the last minute when they are in. So I don't know which would be the best way to make plans.
They will want their own room.
My thought is that they should make room only ressies,( but only for him because I have already paid for her, so that they have the same resort as the rest of the family and friends that are coming. Then right before we go he could add tickets and DXDDP to his room. If he class's up then he could just cancel. I made ADR's including him, so that is not a problem.
Does it cost more for a single booking? or would it work out about the same if she was on the ressie with him, but then what would happen if he happens to be in school. OMG this is driving me crazy..:scared1:
Any suggestions or information would be helpful.

First off can he get the leave if he get accepted into flight school. I know when my son was accepted & told when no leave. If he wanted flight school you go when they want you too not when you want to :) I know this doesn't help you but your DD need to know this. When any military service tell you going somewhere especially school you applied for you go when they tell you period (only exception death in family & that doesn't include girl friends) He need to find out or DD does. Suggestion if he can't tell her to wait until he can go & then they can go together. My VIEW ONLY :)

Hmmm, well...since he is in the military, he would be able to take advantage of the military offer (provided you are coming before the end of September). Then he can save on tickets and get the special military salute offer ($99 for 4 Day Base ticket) and just do a package with dining. Too bad you didn't know for sure, because bringing him along can save you money as well. He would be able to get up to 5 people for $99, plus get you the 40% military offer on the room with dining. It's a tricky situation because it will depend on whether or not he goes.

You must add 'a package' for a dining reservation at least 3 days before arrival.

So.. that's probably something to keep in mind.

I don't see an easy solution to this but I wouldn't book ANYTHING til I knew for absolute certain he would be able to go.. otherwise you may end up losing a fair amount on something that you have no control over.

Book room only! That way you know a room is reserved ! Add the package 3 days out!

I think this is the best solution. DH and I are retired navy. I believe he would know prior to 3 days out whether or not he would have the orders for the school.

If he's militiary I would at least book the room, which btw there is 40% off all rooms for military right now. Then later on if he does get the chance to go then add on the package for dining. Then he could just go to SoG or to his local MWR to get the tickets.

Thanks to everyone for the input.
I did not realize that there was a military discount::cool1:
so I think that I will suggest that they make the room only and then we will just wait and see.

first of all congrats to your DD's boyfriend for getting accepted to flight school! My DH is a navy pilot and I have fond memories of life in Pensacola. While it is true that they don't give you much advance notice to report, he should have a week at the very least. I would book room only at the 40% off rate and have him buy tix from shades of green. He can get 4 day tickets for $99, and while he will not be on the DxDP with the rest of you, he will likely end up saving more money without the package since the tickets are so deeply discounted.
