Help, need locations

We went on our honeymoon to the UK and are making a scrapbook of our trip (9 days 1500 miles) and cant remeber two places.
1) Eggleston Abby ruins, where is it?
2) a Little town that had a bridge over a river that led to a small rock church. We think it was something like Apple..... something. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Egglestone Abbey is near the town of Barnard Castle in the North East of England (try this page for a quick sketch map of its location) . Here's a website with some photos of the Abbey.

Could the Apple be Appleby near penrith, Bowes moor on the A66.
If you were near Barnard Castle then its not that far.
