I still can't believe it, but I think my dh is planning to get our vows renewed on Valentine's Day! He has only told me where we are going, since I have time to make ressies and he doesn't. He's taken care of everything, and won't even tell me who our 2yo dd is staying with!

I haven't told him that I have an idea what he is doing, but I would like to surprise him with a nice gift. But, I have no ideas!! Please help!

We have "dated" since we were 13, got married 14 yrs later, and now have been married for 8 years. This is SO unlike him, so I want to surprise him with a nice gift. We never go out without our wonderful daughter, so this will be a special time for us. (I do know he is planning on our dd coming over for the day! ;) That's what clued me in to his plans!)

What should I get him???
Thanks SO much for any advice!

Wow, it sounds like you have a wonderful, romantic husband! I know you're going to have a very special Valentine's Day.

I don't know what your budget might be for a gift for DH, but if you're not planning to spend a whole lot, you could do something simple and personal like finding a great picture of you and DH (and DD too if you want) and having it beautifully framed. Or if you can find a quick-turnaround photographer, you could get a really nice new photo done of just you or of you and DD and have that framed. Once for our anniversary I made a "Things that remind me of you" basket for my DH with lots of little trinkets like special golf balls, his favorite cologne, a "gift certificate" for me to make him his very favorite meal one night, a couple of tokens that recalled our honeymoon, etc.

If you can afford to go all-out and you think your DH would like it, you could of course get him that expensive thing he's been wanting but wouldn't have actually bought for himself--new stereo equipment or a fancy health club membership or whatever it might be.

Have fun. Congratulations!!

I like the "things that remind me of you" basket! Cute idea!

Come on guys....it's almost Valentine's Day! I'm sure you've got some great romantic ideas out there!! Please help me! My dh has been so sweet to do this, I would like to surprise him too... :D
