We just decided to go Disney in 2 weeks and the only onsite hotel available is the Grovesnor. Can anyone tell me about it? Recommend it? Hated it? Tell me so and why. Also, where should we ask for rooms? We're traveling with 2 DDs - 7 and 8. Thanks!!! :earsgirl:

Hate to break the news but this is not on site. Check out the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board and you'll find many posts.

This DTD hotel gets some mixed reviews. It is onsite, but it's not a "Disney" hotel. Meaning it won't get you into EMH and that. As for the rooms, I have not stayed here. Hopefully someone else can comment.

We stayed there in Sep 2000, I won the hotel on Priceline and thought that it was just okay. I know that if I would have paid rack rate for this hotel I would have been very disappointed. The rooms are small and we had the outer rooms (outside entrances) they do have a tower section, but I had a friend that went this past July and had a room booked there but ended up not even staying due to the poor shape of the rooms.

Depending on the price, I would say that you could get the same quality of room (if not better) at one of the Disney Value resorts and have early entry to boot.

On a side note, we also won a Downtown hotel in 2002 (Best Western) and loved it, so you could check out that hotel also.

Stayed for $55 a night and felt like we paid too much. Didn't get the room we reserved (I think we were supposed to be in tower), rooms were run down and not clean, fridge broken, sidewalks buckled, time share booth in lobby was always hawking and overall just felt like hotel was poorly maintained. We were with a group, and some of them left early because of it. If it were my only onsite choice, I would choose to stay offsite as other than a couple minutes closer there was no benefit.
