I hope someone can help me out. :)

I want to make a pin holder similar to the ones some of the CMs wear hanging from their waists. I guess it's square, maybe 6" in diameter. The thing is, I've never seen one, I'm trying to go on the directions another poster gave me. It would help so much if I could just SEE what she is talking about! :magnify:

Could those of you that are prodigious photo-takers possibly take the time to look through your photos to see if you might have gotten a shot of a CM wearing one of these thingamabobbers? I know it's asking a lot, but maybe somebody will read this and immediately think, "I know just what she's talking about, and I think I have a pic of it!"

That could happen...right? :flower3:

Pin holder from their waist? I am not sure what you are talking about but they do have badge holders that attaches to a clip. Are you referring to that?

No, this is in place of a lanyard that holds pins for trading. I'm clueless, too, as I've never seen one, but it sounds like a good thing for me as I will have a camera strap around my neck, and would rather not have my pins there too.

well im gona keep my lanyard in my bag and my sons and fionces to (were buying 50 befor we go so we can have fun

disneyscooyergal- I think I know what you are talking about.
When I was searching on ebay for a fannypack for my sons I saw something that fits the description.
It looks like a small black fannypack(i think it is a bag/tote) which displays pins on the front.

Try an ebay search in all categories with "disney fannypack pins" and I'm sure something similar will pop up.
Good luck!

If you can wait until Tuesday I will take a picture when I go Monday evening. I know exactly what you are talking about. It looks like a square book that may have felt pages or something right? Let me know if that is what it is and I will ask them if I can take pics of it.:thumbsup2

Hi -

I just bought one for my son at WOD in NYC -- on clearance for 7.99!!!

I will gladly send you a picture but you will have to PM me with you email address as I do not have picture posting privileges yet! :rolleyes1

I would think you could buy one cheaper than making it IMHO.:confused3

A number of the Cast Members do not like to wear the heavy lanyards around their necks so they have what is called by a number of names, but I call a waist lanyard. It is a piece of material approximately 4” x 4” hemmed on all four sides, with a plastic clip on the top of it that they can attach to the belt loops on their costumes. I will see what I can do about getting a picture of it so you can see if this is what you are interested in.

Yes, I think that must be it. You are awesome to do this, Bsbllmom!!

If you upload your pictures to another site - like photobucket.com you can post them on here :) They give you the link to post on their site.

It's not a problem. I will ask them to open it so I can get really good pics. I am planning on going in the evening after dinner so I won't be able to post until Tuesday.:)

I don't mind waiting at all. Again, thank you!!:)

Brenda I went today and didn't take my camera. I did have my phone though and I was going to take it with that. Well I only saw one CM with what I thought you were talking about but it was just like one piece of material, maybe stuffed a little bit in the middle, so I guess 2 pieces of material:confused3 Anyway I am going again tomorrow night and I already have my camera in my backpack. I will get a pic tomorrow for sure.

Sorry about that.

That's no problem. ;) Thanks so much for doing this for me!

Ok, last night I looked and looked and even asked a CM if she knew anyone that had one of these things. She said they don't sell them they are just for CM's. So she described it to me. It is two pieces of a felt like material. It has a little bit of stuffing inside so it is not completely flat. There is a 1 1/2 -2 inch strap sewn into the top middle part of the square. There is a plastic hook latch, the kind that has the straight closure thing from the base of the hook to the tip of the hook, (does that make sense?). She said that is all it is. I thought they had some that looked like a zippered, square day planner type thing and she said that she hadn't seen any of those. I will look everytime we go and I will get that picture. I'm on a mission now.

But in my quest of the pin holder thingy my family started their very own pin collections.:rotfl: We had never bought lanyards or anything like that. Now we have lanyards, ticket holders and about 8 pins each.

BMom,
:guilty: I'm so sorry. If I'd known you were a non-pin collector, I never would have sent you on this mission. The risk of exposing you to the pin madness is just too great. And now, you've been sucked into our little world of madness. :scared1:

;) Seriously, you will love pin trading, I tried it on our last trip thinking that my DD9 would enjoy it, and it would encourage her to be more outgoing. Surprise, surprise, Mom enjoyed it probably more than DD! We joined the ranks of the pin-insane that very trip.

The only thing is I like all the pins that I am buying. I don't want to trade them, so what do you do? Do you buy ones that you don't really like then trade those? Any info you can give me on this new adventure will greatly appreciated. I really didn't think we would ever do this. :rotfl:

Okay, you asked for it!:goodvibes

You need to go to this website (can you hear the "junkie" in me?):

Dizpins sales boards (I'm not allowed to post the url for some reason)

and then click on the sale boards, and scroll down until you see "Traders for sale". You buy a grab bag of however many you want (I usually do about 20 at a time; that way I fool myself into thinking I'm not spending as much!;) )

Now, I've bought from rocke01 and been extremely pleased with all the pins; the other gal I bought from doesn't seem to be on there any more. I've never bought from dizfan4 (who's selling traders for $2.00 each), but I may have to give that one a try.

Others do their buying on ebay, and I've done that a bit too, but it seems you're more likely to get Sedesma, Propins, and scappers if you do that. I think the Dizpin board tries to keep a close watch on those that post on their boards and keep that kind of thing to a minimum.

Whew! There's an insidious kind of pleasure in taking someone over to the dark side with you, isn't there? :rotfl:

im buying grab bags from a disney pin site its cool im hoping to get a few good ones and the rest just be used for tradeing hehe ill buy 50
