HELP! Need advice on points transfer different resorts

Hi there,
We own at BWV, lots of points, and have always told our friends they are welcome to come down and we will get them a place. Now we have some friends that want to come for a week, at Thanksgiving, and have 9 people. We don't have that many points to spare at all!

They want to stay at BCV. I can try to set up a rental for them, but I feel it would be safer/easier on everyone if we had the actual reservation for them in our account.

Can we set up a points transfer of someone else's BCV points and still book now? Otherwise we will have to wait until April and borrow tons of points from our next year's allotment, and still probably wouldn't have enough. Or do we have to do a straight rental, so we can get the booking advantage.

I think it's a lot to ask a freind to host you for a week at Thanksgiving time for 9 people and exepect it to be free. I'm sure if you told them you don't have any points left for this season, they would understand. If not, then I woulnd't want them wihth me on vacation anyways. I can totally see using points you won't be using for your friends to come but to PAY for points so your friends can come and bring evryone they know, SORRY!

If you can find someone to transfer you BCV points, you may use them to make a reservation at the BCV before the 7 month window opens.

Since Thanksgiving is so popular and the BCV one of the smaller resorts, I think it is a good idea to book ahead of the 7 month window if you can.

Keep in mind that you are limited to one transfer per use year per membership so you will need to find someone willing to transfer you all of the points you need for the reservation.

Before you go too much further, my advice is to call MS and ask what availability looks like at BCV for the unit(s) you need. If there are already waitlists for what you need or if availability is very limited, you probably should ask your friends if another resort will do, or if they'd rather plan for next year instead.

I'm going to edit your original post to remove the details of the transfer request - those are allowed only on the Rent/Trade Board.
