Headed back to WDW for the first time in a few years. The wife has a Nikon DSLR that she's taking, but it's not the most convenient. By the time it gets pulled out & set, the moment might be gone.

I'm looking for a current model point & shoot that I can use ton the trip- should be compact & have good resolution, ability to capture action pics from rides (one of my favorite pics from WDW ever is a pic I took of my wife on the teacups where she is in focus, but the background is whirling & blurred- no idea how I did it), enough battery life to get through a day, & , a half decent zoom. We may take a fireworks cruise, so fireworks setting/capability is a plus but not necessary.

Have any of you folks picked up a versatile point & shoot for a recent trip that you can recommend? Thanks!

I was recently gifted with a Canon SX280HS.

I love this camera. With 4 kids, whom all play action sports, it quite possibly the best camera I have ever used.

The quality of the pictures and the ease of use is amazing for a point and shoot.

They only complaint I have is the placement of the flash. I need to be mindful when it "pops" up so I don't block it.

You won't be sorry with this camera.

was one that came quickly to mind. It is a solid overall camera. Amazon has what I think is a good price - $180 - $190 - with a free 16GB card on offer. It's still worth looking around a bit for a cheaper post Christmas price.

It's possible that you just want another good and inexpensive camera without much expense. The Coolpix 4200 is a good camera without some of the features of the Canon. You can get it for about $100 cheaper.

Canon's PowerShot A3500IS is a nice, small P&S. Regular price is around $180 and Target was recently featuring it for $80. Has wifi and video capability.
