Help Name My Baby

I always liked the idea of a family connection with names. We named our daughter after my two grandmothers: Helena June (Lainie for short). Other names I adore, but we can't use due to friends using them or the potential for horrific nicknames (due to our last name, which is kind of goofy): Evelyn, Charlie and Finn. If we ever have another girl, I will probably name her Eloise (a favorite book from my childhood).

If and when we have kids....our girl will be named Cecily Nicole and boy will be Theodore James (after our dads).

Girls -- Katherine (called Kat or Katy), Megan, Kristina, Alexandria (called Ali), Jacqueline, Angeline

Boys -- Sean, Joshua, Davin, Drake, Ian, James

girls - Rachel Leigh, Abigail Marie(Abbie), and Haley Alexandra
boys - Logan Christopher, Lucas Alexander and Ethan James

We have an Olivia Abigail (still love that name to this day)
She would have been Philip if she was a boy
and we have Emma Elizabeth (named after her great grandma)
She would have been Alexander Philip had she been a boy

I'm also partial to Lea (me). DH wanted to name one of our girls after me?? I didn't like that idea

Well my kids are Desmond and Jazmin. If I were to have any more I like Able for a boy and Alexandria or Alexa for a girl. I also like Jade for a boy or girl.

girls : Sarah, Olivia, Daniella, Isabella or isabelle (belle for short)

boys: Jason, Justin, Harrison, troy, trent, shane or shayne.

This thread had me searching for my list!! My long list that I needed just 7 months ago to the day. :)

I couldn't find it. I know it's around here somewhere. But the names that were dear to me were:

My favorite - Ana Elise (Stated as one name) Hubby nixed it. I knew of a little girl with this name. It sounds so pretty. It really fit her.

My next favorites - Natalie, Claire & Grace,....

On the list - Veronica, Shannon, Samantha and
about 50 others. :)

Annemarie

Edited to add, I didn't have as many boy's name. I always liked Phillip, James, Vance, Seth.

If you couldn't figure it out by my sn or the picture below, our DD's name is Trinity. we get compliments on it all the time.

Another name DH and I like for a girl is Isabella (we'd call her Bella for short) and for a boy Ethan. My DH's name is Keith but everyone calls him KC (Keith Christopher), and i really like that.

Good luck! And best wishes:D

My favs dd Tayla Olivia and ds Brendon Gray!! Good luck ! I also love Aiden Jack.

I have all girls, Sara Aleksandra, Elizabeth Anne, Emily Hannah, and Rachel Louise. If we would have had a boy ,he would have been Jacob Matthew. I love the old fashion names.
Some of the others we considered were : Emma, Maggie, Clair, Abigale and Hope for girls. The only other boy name we had was (don't laugh) Joshua Crockett after my great grandfather. Thank God we didn't have a boy. He would have had a hard life! :)

Ever since I was in Monaco I liked the name Grace (after Grace Kelly) and I've always wanted to name my child after my grandma (that's my middle namesake also) so I'm loving Grace Elizabeth. If I ever have a boy, my DF wants a junior, so I guess we would have a Timothy Sean. Good luck choosing a name!!! As long as the baby is happy and healthy, it will be wonderful! :)

I like names that are not as common as mud, but not as unusal as some that you can hardly get your tongue around.

I have 2 boys JADYN MYLES & LACHLAN BRODIE

I also like Elijah for a boy

GIRLS

NICOLE

ELIZABETH

ROSE

NICOLETTE

NATASHA

ALEXANDRA

Hope you decide on something soon.

When my second son was almost due, we were still trying to find a middle name, we had agreed on Lachlan, but we could not agree on a middle name. A few days before he was born DH came up with Brodie & I liked it too, so Brodie it is.

Fun! Augusta, Electa, Claire are names I've always
loved for a girl.
Our criteria for picking a name for our child were:
Good for child and adult
Works with any profession(We think some names
tend to be a bit silly and therefore lack the power for
heads of state, corporate leaders, CEO and
decision making positions. Example-would you want
your boss to be named "Merry Christmas Trees?"
I actually knew a girl name the above! Her brother
was "Douglas Fir Trees"
No horrible nicknames
Monogram doesn't spell bad word
correct spelling so everyone can immediately say it

Boys names were easier. We picked Wyatt, we both wanted
it. That's what we named our son.

My DD's name is Gemma Heather - Gemma beacuse it means 'Precious' and Heather after my mum who died when I was 19! She would have been Sam Michael Robert if she'd been a boy (Sam because we liked it and it's the name of our favourite sportsman, Michael after my dad - who died when I was 20 - and Robert after DH's dad - it's also DH's middle name!)

We chose Gemma because we had waited 4 years for her to arrive - which made her VERY precious! princess:

I liked the names Freya, Victoria, Sophie (which didn't sound right with our surname!) and Luane for girls and Jared, Jacob, Cole, and Liam for boys. My DH hated all of these - he liked Rebecca for a girl - or possibly Joanna but I didn't like those. He was always in favour of Sam for a boy - which I loved too!!!!

Good luck with choosing!!!

My favorite name for a boy is Brenton Paul (Brent for short). For a girl, I've always been partial to Jessica. I have a niece Kerrianne. Everyone always comments on what a pretty name she has.

Karen

I have a
Gabrielle Elizabeth
and a
Matthew Robert

My boy name for Gab was Zachary which is too common now
and my Girl name for Matt was Madyson which a cousin just announced she is naming her daughter due in August) So neither of them is an option anymore :(

a lot of the names mentioned are already in the family and I would never use the same name (although other members of ourfamily would do it in a heartbeat)

we already have
Daniel, Morgan, Hanna, Avery, Jared, Ryan, Abigail, Ethan, Joclyn, and a few others you all mentioned :)

Dan I will have to take a closer look at those links - :teeth:

We have french canadian ancestors and the names are NOT GOOD
we considered them all but Clem, Claude, Herve, Florence, Albina, and the others didn't even make the 'maybe' list - lol

Thank for all you input there are some good ones there I made note of to mention to DH

For girls, I like feminine names, like Lauren, Claire, Chloe, etc. Boys, more traditional names like Jacob, Jonathan, etc. But I am going to name my son after my grandfather, Dalton. It's important for me to keep tradition and honor him. Maybe family names aren't such a bad way to go.
