Help My Friend Choose a Starter DSLR

I've got a T2i as well. To be honest, the T2i with a kit lens makes for a great starter camera.

Does anyone have and bring their flash with the t2i while in Disney? It is not currently an accessory I own so I was not planning on having one with me during the trip, but do not want to regret my decision once I'm at WDW. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this is something that you're friend is interested in, but she could get a t2i with the kit lens plus 75-300 for a little over $800 on qvc. I know it's more than she wanted to spend, but if she uses their payment plan, she could split it up into 5 payments of $163. I think it also comes with a bag (big and ugly... but a bag none the less) and an 8GB card. I just thought I'd throw out the idea because some people like the payment thing. ;)

I consider my external flash an important part of the kit I bring to Disney. I use it for all character shots, indoors and out. Benefits of external vs. pop-up flash aside, I'd use it for no other reason than it runs off its own battery source and never leaves me with a "busy" message as it recycles. When you're with a character, you usually can't ask them to hold on while your flash recycles.

Thanks for offering an alternative. But I actually advised her to avoid that specific lens (the 75-300) and only consider only the 55-250 if she went Canon, based on the reviews of others here. She ended up with the Nikon 2 lens kit for $729.
