Help - my Dyson isn't working!

I have the purple Animal Dyson with the telescoping handle, and the brush isn't spinning. I noticed it was really hard to push my machine, so I thought something was wrong with the brush and there was a ton of hair. So I opened it up and cleaned it - like I have done a million other times - and now the machine is super easy to push, but the brush isn't spinning.

Anyone know how to fix or what could be wrong. And if I have to get it fixed, how much will that cost. I am having images of having to buy a new Dyson this week. It's over 5 years old, so no warranty covereage for me.

take it to a sew and vac shop in your area...they can probably tune it up, replace some spring or something and fix it for you. It might cost $100, but that's better than a new vacuum.

that happened to me on my Dyson Animal. Turns out I had accidentally pushed the "floor" button beside the on/off button. Once I realised that and pushed the 'floor' button to turn it off, the brush started spinning again.

Tink - my DH just called and that's exactly what he did. I never move the switch, and he never cleans. Guess he tried to help this past weekend, and confused me!

I know your problem is solved but when I had a problem I called Dyson and they were extremely helpful in the phone. Wonderful customer service.
