Anyone had any problems with renewing a passport? Office reckon they returned my son's passport on the 25th April (after four phone calls yesterday and being told different every time). They put him through to the courier in the end and he had to describe our front door. They confirmed they'd posted it through the door two weeks ago! Boulderdash! All the doors are the same here!
His original passport was returned that date, but they insist it was the new one and gave us a time it was supposed to have been put through the door. So basically, they are calling us liars!! I'm so angry as we go away in two weeks and now am in the process of cancelling due to the complaints procedure taking a minimum of two weeks.
When we realised his passport was out of date we phoned and checked turnaround, and used the passport check and send on the 16th April, so the date of 25th would have been only 9 days. Surely that's that is too quick as two days post would have given a turnaround of 7 days, which we didn't pay for. So I still think they are robbing us off.
Anyone else had problems? It's not the first time we have had a passport delivered here - but my house faces the corner and is on two different roads. The road name is actually on our house!
It is possible for us to rearrange the trip for July/August as has to be out of school and it will only cost us about ¬20 to do so but I really don't want to do that if I can avoid it as we have been looking forward to the trip for a long time. Plus the whole family has to rearrange too!
Hoping someone can puck my spirits up here as I've read else where sometimes that when you campaign, the missing passport seems to magically appear!!
