I am a mother to an only child. We have been bringing her to Disney ever since she was 1 year old. She is now 13. She always has fun on our vacations, but it doesn't seem fair she's stuck with her parents the whole time. So this year my husband and I are allowing her to bring her best friend. I want to make this trip special for the both of them. Any ideas? We are staying outside of WDW and we are staying for a week.

HELP!:confused3

Bringing a friend along is something very special. My DD and I
have done many trips. We have went alone just her and I. We
went as a family. Once took a cousin her age. I recently asked
her what was her favorite trip. She said when she when we took DC.

We have had a blast when we brought a friend along. Just being there with someone new is fun in it's self.

No suggestions, but it's so great that you're doing that! I am an only child and it would have been so fun if my parents would have let me bring a friend on vacations.

I think the addition of a friend is going to make this WDW vacation a lot of fun. Try to give her some time to roam the park alone with her friend, and meet up for parades, shows, or dining. (I suggest keeping their park tickets the entire time, though.) Make fun character dining ADRs ("kiddie" things are a lot more fun for a teenager when there's a friend with them to laugh along) as well as ADRs at Disney resorts (this will give you a little time to escape the park crowds).

I hope you all have fun at WDW!

Mom (& Dad) you are so cool! I am an only and although I had fun on our trips I would go on a lot of rides by myself.
One suggestion may be (depending on their maturity and your comfort level) to give them some time to explore the park themselves. A cel phone would keep them in touch with you. Plus you and DH would have some alone time and do some attractions the girls may not be interested in.

Have you asked them? At this age, and with your DD going so many times, she probably has a good idea of what she would like to do

sounds like a blast bringing a friend, maybe a day at the water park, a whole new side to it with a friend!
