Hi All
I am a newbie on this forum, and I am stressing out at the volume of information on offer here.

I am going to Floriday in June 2008, I am travelling with DH, DD3, DS6 and DS11, Can anyone please write up an itinerary for me as to which parks to visit and how to maximise our time there, as I do not know where to begin.

There are some on here but I think you really need to do this for yourself the good part is you have nine months to read here and assimilate the information to come up with your own best plan. There is also some info on the disneyworld.com site and on allears.net that can help you.
Just relax and take your time then once you have a plan call and get your ADRs you can do them 180 days out.

May I suggest you buy Steve Birnbaum's Unofficial Guide to Disney? He also has one for kids, by kids I would say get the book, look carefully at the different sections, write down questions and then come back to this site to see if any of your questions have been posted by someone else, then if not, you can ask til your hearts content and you will get help.. My other suggestion is for sure to stay on Disney property...use their transportation and take time out of each day, to return to the resort for a swim or nap or both..The food courts at the resorts have a great selection and I'm sure you will find something for everyone Go to Magic Kingdom first From there, whatever your children like....I feel that the real magic starts the minute you step on Main St. USA It is truly magical.....A character breakfast would be great on a day that you want to visit another park, and or come back to Magic Kingdom. The Crystal Palace has a great character breakfast with Pooh and friends. We did that once, and then went to Epcot and the time spent was great..best of both worlds. I also do all of my shopping at Disney Marketplace..they have everything that all the parks do but it's all in one place....I hope I haven't given TMI, I hope I have given you food for thought and that in your planning, you will find excitement and joy. Let your children help in the planning and that way they will be a part of it from the start...

I would start with specific dates. Then I would research the hotels and make that decision and call and make those reservations. Then I would divide up the days among the parks, the water parks and other extra activities. Then make your dining reservations based on where you'll be each day.

It is quite overwhelming at first, but just take it one step at a time.

I agree with the two posts above mine here if I got mine in early enough. Main thing is you have time so just do "JUST DO IT" and leave the stress at work ... THIS IS DISNEY after all.

You can do this! I know it seems impossible at this stage, but honestly you will be able to figure it out. First you need to secure where you are staying. Many are huge fans of staying on site. I think this is a great idea for your first trip. Check out allears.net. Great site to "see" the hotels.

You have time, but your next step is to book lunch and dinner reservations. (Often it is better to have just one either dinner or lunch as a sit down each day.)

Get the Unofficial guidebook as someone else suggested. At the back of the book it lists every single ride and attraction at Disney and then rates them by age group. For instance preschoolers may give a ride 4 stars, but teens give the same ride 2 stars.

You need to know the rides and attractions. If you base your choices on someone else's choices you could be really disappointed. What one family finds "charming" another family finds "boring." What one family sees as "fun" another family sees as too scary.

In the back of the book they give ideas for how to tour the parks. From this you can figure out your own schedule for which attractions to do in which order. This is NOT hard. You can do it!

The book gives you a good idea of which park to go on which day, OR check out TourGuideMike. He has a neat site that shows which are the best days to go to which park.

This site is packed with information, but before you can really appreciate this detailed information you need a really good understanding of what is at each park.

No matter what you do. No matter where you book or where you eat. You will have a blast!!!
