I like Syd too. My DD has a betta and he has been through numerous name changes. First he was Sponge Bob Squarepants, then Nemo, and then Bubbles. Not sure what his current name is. We have had him for almost 2 years though! Never though he would live that long. Good luck with yours. They are relatively low maintenance but I am getting tired of cleaning his bowl!

My 2yr old nephew named his Bridge...I'm sure he'd be willing to let you use that name too! hehe

So the story goes...They got him the fish as a distractor for ditching the pacifier...So on the way home his mom says "What do you want to name your fish?" And he said "How about Bridge?" and after multiple times asking, he kept saying Bridge, so it stuck.

The oldest beta fish I know is my son's friend fish, Gary. That sucker is 5 years old!!! The parents don't know why Gary's lived so long, (no, he hasn't been "replaced",)he's an old fishie.

If you don't like Gary, or SpongeBob references, I like Spike, but my fish haven't lasted that long.

i have 2 red bettas...neither of them look that cool though...I got jipped...mine are named Rusasa and Sesho...after my boyfriends Final Fantasy 11 character names. i think you should name him Izzy spike is second choice.

I once had a betta. His name was Ichthys. It means "Fish" in Latin (or Greek, I forget which).
