Help me with military tix!

I'm helping my sister and her family plan their first trip. Her husband is a disabled veteran. Since he has been retired/disabled since Desert Storm he doesn't have contact with a base, nor do they live close to a base. Everything I'm seeing on the DL website says tickets are available on base, but are they also available at the gate? Also, are the 3 day tix the only option or are there other options?

Yes, available at the gates. That's where we get ours. Just will need his military ID.

You can get them at the ticket booth. That will be a separate line from the gate/turnstiles. I am not sure about a different type of ticket with a military discount. I THINK the 1,2,4-day basic tickets can be bought at a small discount but if so, it's nowhere near the great deal that is the Military Salute ticket.

When you go to the ticket booth, tell them you want to purchase the Military Salute tickets and make sure he brings his current military ID (or spouse brings her spouse military ID)

I don't know if staying onsite is in the budget but they do offer a military discount. I'm staying at the PPH in August and I'm receiving 40% off the room rate. I believe you can get the tickets at the front desk as well. Have fun planning!
