Help me with clues to surprise my kids

We're going on our first non-Disney Orlando trip during MLK week. We have surprised the boys before when we went to WDW, and they just loved the surprise. So we want to do it again. We will be giving them the trip as their Christmas presents.

Can you help me think of some clues they'd have to figure out to learn where they are going? They are 9 and 7. When he was six, our older boy finally figured out the WDW trip destination when he heard "When You Wish Upon a Star." (we didn't put obvious Disney stuff in the clues - no Mickey Mouse or Cinderella Castle....)

So far, I've got Spider-Man and SpongeBob t-shirts for them, but that's it. We'll be going to US, IOA, SW, and maybe Kennedy. We have tickets for Pirates Adventure dinner theater. My parents are going with us, and we'll all be staying at HIFS.

maybe a can of spinach for Popeye. Maybe some orange tang for Kennedy Space Ctr (Drink that the astronauts took to the moon we were told in the 1970's). Not very good ideas. I'll try to think of something better.

That's a fun idea! How about some little shamu's or dolphins for SW? You could give them dinoasaurs for Jurassic Park (they will really love Camp Jurassic!). Are they too old for Dr Seuss things?
A comic book with some of the marvel characters? Also, Scooby Doo is featured there as well as Men in Black.

I like the spinach idea .

that is a fun dinner theater. there's LOTS of auidence participation, so the kids might have to help in one of the pirate games, or they might get selected to go on the ship and take the pirate oath, or they might get to be part of the king's army. heh, you could get them an eyepatch for that.

Check the thread at top about Universal Character Locations for some hints:
SHREK! Ghostbusters, Scooby Doo, Spiderman, Dr. Seuss characters, MIB, Jurassic dinosaurs, Curious George, etc. You could easily cut out pics of these characters from advertisements for toys/the videos, etc. and glue them to a card... you know which characters would thrill your kids

"What do we all have in common? You can find us all here... at Universal Studios Florida...We're really looking forward to seeing you on (your date of visit)"

We're doing something like that. I have found a cheap Grinch stuffed animal and he's going to be in the Xmas tree holding a note for our 4 DD's from Santa inviting them to see the Grinch this New Year's so they remember that sometimes Christmas doesn't come from a store..... They don't even know there is such a thing as Grinchmas. There is even a "Grinch" type font available on the Web to use to print this note out. And I have already told them that WDW (our Xmas gift to them) is so expensive no way we're going to Universal too. Hee. hee. Can ya tell I can't wait till Xmas morning!

Well there's the Jolly Green Giant (Hulk) from sweetcorn (don't know if you have that over there and could be a little too cryptic anyway).

There's Jaws, Free Willy, Back to the Future, ET, Kong (no more), Twister, Nickelodeon, Jurrasic Park, Woody Wood Pecker, Scooby, Yogi, X-Men, Fred Flintstone, Keenan & Kell.

I think your problem will be finding something that isn't too obvious! Have to admit, I would get too excited and couldn't keep a secret.
