When I first made our ressies using the just-released AP discount for early 2017, CSR showed as unavailable. So, I made our 9 ngt (jan 30-Feb 8) stay for POP. This morning, for the heck of it, I called wdw reservations and the CM told me that CSR was booked for only the first 2 days of our stay. So I reserved CSR for Feb 1st-8th making our 2nd option a split-stay (have never done that!) with 2 nites at POP and 7 nites at CSR.
(so currently I have both POP and CSR ressies- I don't like to hold 2 concurrent, so I need to make a decision)

Price increase for the trip of $500 is the obvious "Con" for the split stay option.
We've stayed at POP twice before. Have never stayed at CSR so staying at a resort new to us is the 1st "Pro" to the split stay option.
Having a coffee maker in the room at CSR is a "Pro" since coffee 1st thing in morning is important to me.

Can you guys further help me with my Pro/Con list? Is doing a split-stay a hassle? Busing, comfort of the beds, space in the room.....Any little thing can be added bc even the small stuff adds up!
I should add that our party consists of myself (mom) 2 DS's (20 and 24) and DD16.

Pros CSR-Bus stop is closer. I found bus service to be only okay at both. CSR has stops at multiple points in the resort though so it can take some time, but it's also good because if you're farther you don't have to walk to the main building each time. Pop only has one stop at the main building.

CSR has 2 TS restaurants, a louge, a place with snacks, and a food court.

Has more themeing at the pools, but less in the resort as a whole because it's a convention center.

Not sure how bed comfort and room size compare but the rooms were very nice though the bathrooms were a bit outdated. It was quieter than Pop.

Cons-Bus service still not great, hotel felt a little less "Disney" and employees weren't always as polite as the typical Disny CMs, we were very close to the main building but not all of them are.

Pros for Pop-Cost, heavy themeing, enjoyed the food court and store still.

Cons-We had a quite a walk to the main building, noisy when peolle get ready in the mornings, no coffee maker in the rooms.

We stayed at Pop last year and Csr this year and while mods are defintely nicer, I'm not sure that they're hugely different from values. The price was pretty low when we went for both so it wasn't much of a difference.

But with that said I'd still stay at both again at some point in the future. So I guess if the restaurants and food at CSR appeal to you and you want to eat at the resort more than once, the theme appeals to you, you want a coffee maker and less walking to bus stops both at the hotel and parks then I'd pick Csr. But if you want a highly Disney hotel, you don't plan to be at the hotel or eat there a lot, you don't want multiple bus stops, and the cost feels too high for Csr then I'd stick with Pop.

Raeven Thanks for the detailed post! It comes down to being a personal decision but it helps so much to hear 1st hand opinions from persons who have visited both resorts!

CSR is okay. We stayed there for two weeks in August/September in the Cabanas section. I do love this section the most. But everything felt like a far walk. Far to the main pool, far to the restaurants.

I love Pop because I still feel close to everything (Hippy Dippy pool, main building and buses) in a standard room.
