Help me understand transfers better

I've rented out our points through David's before, but I've never been a part of a transfer transaction.

We currently have two studios at BCV booked for 7/22-7/27. We'd like to add two more nights - 7/20-22 for both the studios, but we only have 12 points left. We need 68 more for 80 total to do this.

One issue - the rooms are not available - we'd have to waitlist. Is this doable with transferred points? I know you have to call in to use them to make a reservation, will they let you call in and waitlist something to be booked with transfer points (if they rooms become available)?

If the above is doable, what do I need to look for with regards to use year?

Does it even matter what resort the transferred points are from since I'm already within 7 months?

I don't see many transfer listings on the rent / trade board. Would most people be willing to do either if they've listed just as a rental?

It ought to be. They manually process waitlists.

As far as UY, you will want to keep in mind both the date of stay - so the points have to be eligible to be used in July 2019 - and what you can do with them if you don't get the waitlist. Home resort might matter in that sense, as the points retain both UY and home resort. You'd want December points if it involves waitlisting right now. September and October points would have to be banked before a 30 day waitlist expiration.

Not necessarily. Point transfers are one per year per member, either in or out. Banked or borrowed points CANNOT be transferred, and many people offering points to rent are using banked points.

Plus you cannot borrow transferred points. So make sure the points you transfer in have a UY before your vacation date, not after.
