So I went to allseas travel to get an idea of pricing. With family of four (two adults & two kids) am I looking at the double pricing (2 ppl) or the Quad pricing (4 ppl)?

Are there cheaper times of the year to go?

On All Seasons website, it depends. If both of your children are older than 3 and under 13, the quad pricing is your absolute price. If one of your children is under 3, look at the triple price and add about $200 for port charges for the infant. If one or both of your children are over 13, you need to add $200 for each child over 13 to that quad price. I hope that helps!

On that website, I believe the prices are listed as 2 adults and the rest children, so you'd be looking at the "Quad" column. There's a note on the bottom of the pricing list:

"Prices assume 3rd/4th/5th passengers are 3-12 years old at time of sailing. Add $200 to the price above for each 3rd/4th/5th passenger 13 years of age or older. Children under 3 count toward cabin capacity but pay only port charges."

That's based on a single room. If you're looking at adjoining rooms, then you'll be booking two cabins at the "Double" price, as the first two occpants of any stateroom pay the full adult price.

Yes, there are cheaper times of the year. Don't go during holidays, school vacations or summer. Those are the usual times prices increase. January, September, October and November pre-Thanksgiving and parts of December seem to be the most inexpensive times to go.

I don't know what that means (sorry). So if the Cat 4 family veranda is $5000 for two people and $7000 for four. If I book two Cat 4 family side by side I would get them both for the $5000 even though four people will be in one and two in another?? I so confused.

The prices on allseas is per cabin. Four people in room, would be the quad column, with all this exception verbage:

Prices assume 3rd/4th/5th passengers are 3-12 years old at time of sailing. Add $200 to the price above for each 3rd/4th/5th passenger 13 years of age or older. Children under 3 count toward cabin capacity but pay only port charges.

Hope that helps...

Sorry about that, I'll try to clarify. When booking with DCL (or most any cruise line for that matter), the first two people in a room pay the adult price, even if one of them is a child. So for the sake of argument, let's say your kids are 8 and 10.

If you plan to all stay in the same category 4 room, you'd look at the price under the "Quad" column. If one of the kids was over 12, you'd add $200 to that price.

Now, if you wanted to book adjoining rooms (i.e. a room for you and one for the kids), then all four of you would have to pay full price, so you'd look in the "Double" column and multiply that by two (for two rooms).

In the scenario you put out above (4 in one room, 2 in another), the total cost would be the price in the "Quad" column (adjusting for kids over 12, if necessary) plus the price in the "Double" column.

Hope that clears it up.
