I am so frustrated. I think there is something wrong with my machine.
I follow the directions when using a die cut but, if I do I can't get the plates in there the right way. The machine would break.

The only way I can get the thing to work is using scrap papers (never know how many sheets) and a plate or two and rubber matt. And then when I do this If I don't have the right amount of extra sheets of paper it only indents the design and it wrecked the paper I want to cut.

any ideas? Should I e-mail provo craft? do I have a mutant machine? Is this normal?

I only use cuddlebug dies.

I have a "Bug", maybe I can help you.

So.....just to make sure, you have your plates stacked this way, right?

A plate
B plate
Die...foam side up
paper or cardstock
B plate

It will fit snugly in the machine, and when you send the stack through the machine, you will hear cracking sounds. The cracking is normal...it is the sound of the die cutting into the B plate.

The B plate will looked warped after a few uses...this is normal. Turn it over after a few cuts and it will straighten out.

Does this help out at all?

Which die are you using- give one for an example and we can let you know which plates you should (what the sandwich should look like). If it is not working with the correct sandwich then I would contact provocraft.

Dumbodame, I think you gave me the right sandwich :goodvibes

I was using Scrible Flower and Baby Face ABC's and they both came out with your sandwich.

Previously I was using (not sure where I got the idea LOL)

A plate
B cutting place paper/cardstock
cutting die face down
C plate.

So when do you use the C plate?

and how often do you need to get some new B plates because of the cuts. (guess when they crack?) LOL

thanks girls you saved me. I love the machine but was getting so frustrated.

Glad you got it figured out! Cuttlebugs are SO much fun...just wait until you start embossing with them. Addictive!

I've had mine for about a year, use it a lot, but have only used my C plate twice. That gets used for thin dies, like the Nestablilities and brass/metal dies. (A whole 'nother addiction...!)

Thanks Pam, always learning is a great thing:goodvibes

pink fins....

So glad that you got your Bug to work properly.

I too have never had the occasion to use my "C" plate yet. If you use other brands of thin dies, you will use the "C" plate in place of one of the "B" plates.

I have had my Bug for a little over a year, and I use it A LOT. I finally bought new "B" plates a month ago, but I haven't used them yet. My old "B" plates look really nasty and banged up, but they still work fine. I suppose I should break out the new ones one of these days.

Hey, that's good to know. I just bought my first (only) Cuttlekids set on mega-clearance the other day. (The one that looks like Disney stuff...crown, shoe, hairbow, pocketbook) Didn't open the pack yet, but I thought they DID look thinner...

Thanks!
