I will be heading down to WDW in September with one of my best friends. It is her first trip and we are leaving the husbands at home.

I'd like to show her some of the Disney magic by surprising her with something.

I don't want to spend a lot of money though.

A couple ideas I had were the Illuminations Cruise, horse and carriage ride (we're staying at POFQ) or maybe a gift basket delivered to the room.

What would you do?

Thanks!

How about a spa treatment at the GF?

Hmm, that is a good idea! I'll have to find out what those cost. I'm not sure what she would like whether it be a facial or massage.....

Any of those ideas sound good to me. Check out gifts of a lifetime @ http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/. You might also consider dinner at the California Grille during the wishes fireworks, or tickets to see La Nouba at Downtown Disney. They also have spa treatments at Saratoga Springs across from Downtown Disney. You could also take a trip to your local Disney Store for some small items to give her prior to going. A coffee mug with maybe some Disney Dollars to spend is one idea.

Whatever you decide, I'm sure that she will appreciate the magic.

Have a GREAT time!

If I wanted a basket or flowers/balloons delivered to the room who would I call?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! Keep them coming :)

They have traditional flowers and some "unique" disney things. They have some nice items....I am ordering some lunch bags filled with goodies for my sons with some balloons, also. That way I don't have to worry about them nagging me in the parks.
I am getting my Mother this tote bad filled with goodies. It is pretty cute, nothing fancy..check out the site and see if anything appeals to you.

How about one of the behind the scenes tours - where she will have a personal tour guide at her disposal????
I would reccomend doing the MK tour if you consider it. I dont think it costs much more than an Illuminations cruise.

or

You have to eat anyway - right? So How about Dining around the Loop - The Monorail Loop that is. Cocktails at the California Grill Lounge in the Contemporary - dinner at Ohana's in the Poly and Dessert at the Floridian cafe near the boat dock. If you time it just right, the boat dock is a great place to watch the fireworks going off in the MK...which should be around 7- 7:30 for September. Or make there in time to see The Electric water pagent float by the GF boat dock which happens around 9:15 or so every night.
This is something we do every trip. It makes me feel the magic everytime, and offers a side to Walt Disney World that most don't take the time to see.

Dining around the monoral loop is a great idea! That might be something we could do anyway.

Make a PS for the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. It isn't all that expensive and you can schedule it for a late lunch.
