Closing in on 200 points at SSR.
Okay, now it is time to pick a use year. August is what is being offered but I can also take September, October, or December.
We see ourselves often vacationing in a period spanning the end of August through the first few days of September, so conventional wisdom (correct me if I'm wrong) says September and even October would not be a good choice. August might seem a natural BUT....
We're vacationing at WDW next month (was planned and paid for ages ago) and don't see ourselves going back in 2006... I don't think. There is a CHANCE it might be difficult to make it back for our first trip HOME until mid-late August 2007. I hope I'm wrong and we're able to schedule something earlier--- late 2006 or early 2007... but since we find it hard to go twice in the same calendar year doing so would still mess up our eventual plan to visit every August.
The obvious plan is to try to find a way to double dip and take advantage of our point surplus... make the time. We'll see.
But just in case we can't (schedules can be tricky) maybe I should be picking a later use year... that way the banked 2005 points don't expire unitl late 2007.
I'm thinking December. Is there a downside to a December use year? If I chose December, this is the way I understand it... I'll receive my 200 2005 December points right away. I have until May 31 to bank those points. If I do I have 400 points available 12/1/06, 200 of which must be used before 11/30/07. Do I have it?
Just to clarify one more point... if I do bank my 2005 points and then suddenly in June say, what the heck, I'm headed down in November, I can borrow the Dec 2006 points to do so right?
Thanks for your patience.
(I guess I could just rent my 2005 points. But what fun is that!
