OK, I have been trying to follow all the instructions my DISfriends give me. I booked O'hanna and hour before wishes and will ask for a window seat.
I got the Fantasmic package.
Unfortunately, I decided the Illuminations cruise was going to be too much, and didn't book it. Today I watched the WDW show on the travel channel and I am kicking myself when I saw the part about Illuminations. I guess I thought it would be some fireworks, probably cool but I didn't expect them to be that incredible. Of course now I am 75 :earsgirl: days pretrip and it's too late.
Now tell me the next best thing
Where shall I go, what time?
Thank you, I'll try to follow this advice better.

The only suggestion I have is keep calling, just incase there is a cancelation...if nothing becomes available. While you are there keep checking. People due cancel..(why is beyond me.. :confused3 )

The upper landing in front of the Japanese resturaunt is a cool place to see Illuminations. A few people have been fortunate enough to get a patio table at Rose and Crown to see Illuminations, but I've never been so fortunate. That Illuminations Cruise is awesome! Remember, there's a thread here for people looking to share Illuminations Cruises. Perhaps you could post on that thread.

You can see Illuminations from anywhere around the World Showcase. My personal favorite spot is on a bench in China. I usually get some food and grab a seat about 45 minutes before show time. If you're deadset on the cruise keep calling, maybe something will open up. But, from what I've heard, the viewing isn't a whole lot better on the boat as compared to on land.

There's no reason to have book anything special to see IllumiNations -- you can view it from anywhere around World Showcase at Epcot. Just pick a spot where you have a clear view of the lagoon and where the wind is at your back. Then ... enjoy!

:earsboy:

All good suggestions so far. The only thing I would add is avoid being under a tree.

We like to view Illuminations by the bridge area between UK and France. There is a walkdown area that is really cool. I think that has been the best spot after many viewings of the show.
