I have a big blob right now. :rotfl:
Its a recipe that uses melted chocolate, peanutbutter & cool whip. Pretty simple & I managed to screw it up! :headache: You're supposed to allow the chocolate & peanutbutter to get to room temp & add the thawed coolwhip & then refrigerate for 2 hours. Well, my coolwhip wasn't completely thawed so it made my chocolate freeze somewhat. So I have a chunky mix  that I can't roll into balls - so I've plopped several blobs on my wax paper hoping they'd firm up in the fridge.

Is there anyway I can fix this mess? :sad2::guilty:

They sound like turtles now. How do they taste? :)

LOL :lmao:
they taste just fine - I licked my fingers & it tasted just the way it should - you're supposed to roll them in nuts or powdered sugar but there's no picking up the little boogers.

Booger truffles :scared1:

Just mix in the nuts and plop them on the wax paper and call them turtles. :teeth:

LOL but I'm not so sure you can pick them up - if they done set anymore-
maybe I should try freezing them?

Hmm, freeze a couple and see if they freeze. What might have happened was that they didn't get hot long enough when you added in the semi-frozen cool Whip. There's something called tempering chocolate in order for it to get hard again. As explained on the Food Channel, the chocolate has to reach a certain temperature of heat and then be allowed to cool down a certain way. your truffles might have gotten screwed up along that part of the process.

Like, when Rachael Ray makes her 5 minute fudge, she says you have to heat the mixture for X amount of minutes in order to get it to work.

Maybe, heat the mixture again and pour it into a pan and make fudge out of it? Or if they don't solidify enough, scoop them into little cupcake liners and say they are extra gooey and meant to be eaten straight out of the liners. :rolleyes1  It's chocolate. A real chocolate lover won't care. :lmao:

If you can manage to harden them in the refrigerator or the freezer (for a short time) you can then dip them in melted chocolate and the outside with set up and leave a nice soft center.
