Last night I put a roast (premarinated from the store, don't remember the cut, but it was cut like a thick steak) into the crockpot. I got a late start, so my plan was to cook on high about 2 hours and then on low for another few hours until it got tender.
Well, DH, for whatever reason, unplugged the whole thing. I didn't notice until late..too late at night to deal with. I took it out of the fridge today to check it..... it did cook through, but it is TOUGH AS LEATHER!!!! I don't think it was the cut. The marinated store meats are usually very good.
It's a shame to waste it (aka dog food). Do any of you have experience rescuing meat???!!!???? Should I recrock it? Bake it in a soup? Chop it up for the dog?
Thanks!
