Someone please help me calm down!!!
I went last Tuesday, the 17th and ordered our ap's. I was assured by the cm that I would get the old price as long as it got in the computer that day. Well, you can probably guess where this is going. Today I went to pick them up and the manager was waiting on me. She said no way would I get the old price. She got out her black book and said "See, you pay for it when you pick them up. That's today and it's under the new prices." I could get absolutely nowhere with her. She claimed that no one would have given me that information and I was wrong (isn't the customer always right?).
But anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else had this problem.
I'm just so mad at myself because last Tuesday I should have gotten the cm's name and had it in writing what price I was getting. And it's not so much the price difference that I'm paying (about an extra $50) but it's the principle of the thing. I wasn't out to screw Disney, but this woman all but jumped down my throat (and I am proud to say I stayed calm--on the outside anyway! ).
Oh well, any advice??
p.s. She said that it's been '"pretty much common knowledge" for the last NINE MONTHS that prices were going up so I should have ordered them sooner. Duh.

(Update a few posts down, sorry I did it wrong!! )

I would have let her keep the AP vouchers. Sounds like she was not real nice and it would have been a hassle for her to return them.

I thought the day for the increase was the 11th.
I got in under the wire and they told me they would do a "price override" when they came in.
Now they have not come in yet..... but I have been in twice since then and the manager remembered me and asked if I had been called yet letting me know the AP vouchers were in, so I don't think I will have a problem.

Hi melk,

You need to push this further up the
corporate ladder. Call or go back to
your TDS and ask the manager for the
number to TDS customer service or the
number for the regional manager. They
are the one's that can fix this for
you. I am not saying they will fix
this, but I am saying they can fix this.
Good luck

Are you sure that you did not order them on Tuesday the 10th? Because prices DID go up that week. If you did order them just this PAST Tuesday then it WAS past the time that the passes went up. :(

I did order them the 10th and was told by the cm that prices were going up the 11th, so I was (supposedly) just getting in under the wire.
I do have a call in to The Disney Store guest services dept. so I'll let you know what they tell me.

Not to get anyone more upset but I thought that the price increase was happening on Sunday the 8th. I would try and search on the Themeparks board because I think that was the date for the 4 & 5 day hoppers but it could be different for the AP's. I am sorry that this hapened to you. I hope you can get it stagihtened out.

*Update*

I was looking over the passes and receipt tonight and something just wasn't adding up correctly. Then I realized they charged me the new price for the two adult tickets but the old price on the two childrens tickets. So I called the store and asked why I got the old price on two tickets and the new price for the other two. This cm was very helpful (at least he was trying to be) and told me to come down and he'll give me a copy of the order form that has the September 10th date on it. He suggested I bring it down to WDW with me, explain what happened and hopefully they'll give me a price adjustment. He said that TDS just can't give price adjustments, it has to be done through Disney directly.

I feel a little better too, knowing that at least I was able to get two tickets at the old price. Hopefully it will work out, but if not, whatever. I still have my call in to guest services. If they call me back I'll see if I can iron it out with them.

I wanted to order our AP's before the price increase as well, so I called my "local" (closest 35 miles!) DS and was told they had to order the vouchers which take 2-3 weeks to come in, and no way would I get the old price. I felt bad for them because I would have liked to give them the sale, but I instead ordered them directly from WDW over the phone. I hope your situation works out for you when you go to WDW! I bet they'll adjust the price for you! Good Luck!

:D :bounce: :D :bounce: :D

I had a fiasco with AP's too. I went to the local DS and they told me not to buy them there because they weren't sure they could honor the price once the vouchers came in. So I called Disney directly and they told me they were surprised that the store said that. But they also said that the prices were NOT going up, which was patently false.

The only constant so far with AP purchasing and the prices is that no one really knows what the heck is going on!!

I've been in Customer Service for 17 years and NO, the customer is not always right.

But...he is always the CUSTOMER...the one thing that every business needs to stay afloat.

It's a shame you didn't get the name of the cm. Hope it works out for you.

I went to the local TDS on Sunday, the 8th to purchase a voucher. They didn't have any so they special ordered one for me stating on the order the price ( the old price ). They called yesterday to let me know the voucher was there. I went and picked it up paying the old price as promised.:D

I ordered an adult AP on Sunday, Sept. 8, by phone, no less. I called the Disney Store I frequent, which is 45 minutes away, to confirm the impending price increase, and the CM who answered the phone knew nothing, but took my name and number to call me back with prices as soon as she checked with her manager. I was surprised she actually DID call me back with the news I had already seen here, and even offered to take my order over the phone(as the AP would have to be ordered anyway.) I received the call this past Thursday the AP was in, and confirmed the price(the "old" DC price of 354.04). I will be picking it up tomorrow. I will post if I have a problem, but I am not anticipationg one!

We picked ours up today. DH ordered 3 adult aps last Tuesday over the phone. he spoke to the manager and the manager said we needed to order them in person but then said never mind and ordered them for us. He called to let us know they were in and we picked them up today at the old price. We had no problems at all.

I had no problem getting mine today(ordered 9/8) at the old DC price of $354.04. I have never ordered our AP's from TDS(only from Disney directly with a shipping fee), so I was surprised that what I received was a green exchange certificate. The CM/Manager told me I needed to turn this into Guest Services at WDW to have my picture made. Is this something new? I have had 3 AP's since 1999, and we have never had our picture taken. But we have done the finger scan. (I always joke that INS should hire Disney to control the borders.)

Mic,
We exchanged our AP vouchers on 5/31/02 for our AP and we only had the finger scan thing--no picture...

-DC :)

I had to "order" my AP's in person before the 11th.
I was surprised that I had absolutely no problem at all when I bought yesterday.
I was told originally from the manager that she would have to do a price override when the tickets came in so I was dreading the hassle because of what I have heard other people go through.
The fact that there was a different manager than I originally dealt w/ did not make me feel any better either. But... This manager said she does not have to even do a price override - the price of the AP's automatically comes up w/ what you ordered at, not what they are now. I was dubious to say the least and loe-and-behold the rate came up perfectly even considering tax.
I was very pleasantly surprised!

I'm happy for all of you that got the old price as promised. I'm just wondering, what price does it say on the back of your green voucher? I'm asking because my adult ap's have the new price, the child ap's have the old price. I'm thinking this is just how they rang it up. Also, did any of them give you the white order form that confirms when you ordered and what you paid?

Hi, melk. I was in the same situation as you. I ordered my AP on Sept. 10 and instantly ran into the new price vs. old price problem. (I started a thread on it.)

The answer I got later was that Disney said that they would honor the old price only until the end of Sept. 10 or WHILE SUPPLIES LASTED. That made no sense to me, but the manager said that Disney stopped printing vouchers with the old price on the back and began printing vouchers with the new price. Apparently people could get a voucher with the old price on the back up until Sept. 10 if and only if the store could get their hands on such a voucher with the old price on it.

The manager of the store I went to thought it was pretty unfair, since the customers only know of the deadline date and not about the "while supplies last" part. She called around the area, and called me back with good news, saying she had managed to find a voucher with the old price on it. So that's what I got. Picked it up on Sat. the 21st and had no problems as it was rung up. $354.04 with DC discount.

Now, whether her explanation is the right one or not is anybody's guess. But that's what she said, and thankfully it worked out for me. So maybe in your case, they only had children's passes left that had old prices printed on them. Maybe their supply of adult passes at the old price had already run out. Just a guess.

Not sure if this is helpful information or not, but there it is.

Best wishes to you as you see if anything can be done to get you the old prices for the adult APs! Hope it works out well for you! :D

My goodness, they are really putting us through the wringer aren't they?
I am looking at the green "Exchange Certificate" now and they show the adult rate of $334.00 and child of $284.00. I guess the DC rate before taxes.
I am now on my way to the copier to make front and back copies as has been suggested in multiple threads.
