Help me put the size of the parks in perspective

Can someone help me get an idea of what the size of the parks are by comparing them to a Disney park (or an area of a Disney park)? Also, how would you compare the distance of say RPR to the entrance of IOA, US and City Walk? Can you compare it terms of say the Boarwalk area to EPCOT? Just trying to get a mental image of the size and distance of things. Thanks so much!

I've never looked at the actual dimensions but just going off feel, I would say both IOA and the old Universal park are both about the size of the Magic Kingdom (each not combined). RPR is a close hike to IOA, only about a 7 minute walk. But you can take the boat into the park/City Walk area. all the walks are pretty close compared to Disney. DIsney is a lot more spread out, whereas Universal property is all there together. But it does not feel squeezed in. Once at RPR you don't have to get into your car to go to and from the resorts or parks, or City Walk.

Magic Kingdom is 107 acres. Universal Studios is 125 acres. Islands of Adventure is 110 acres.

The walk from Contemporary to Magic Kingdom or Boardwalk to Epcot is about the same as from Royal Pacific to IOA and about twice as long as from Hard Rock Hotel to USF.

Based upon damo's post below, it sounds like your instinct was spot on about the size. :thumbsup2

I'm actually surprised each park is as big (or actually a little bigger) than MK -- I was expecting them to be slightly smaller -- so this is helpful information.

Good to know about the walking distance, too -- I really appreciate your responses.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find at Universal. It's a completely different feel than Disney but you'll have a great time!
