so I got the super cheap frontier tickets for Oct 1-7 on the hopes that I could pull a trip together within my budget - which is not much (not sure how not much yet). Plane tickets were $80 for 2.

When I went the on the Disney site I found out that we could do the Halloween Party (!!!) and also do the epcot food and wine !!!! and the Tower of Terror race was that weekend (b00 crowds) and also that there is a Disney Cruise departing and coming back within that time frame.

DH loves Halloween, so I think we will try to do the party. Do they sell out? If we do that i think we will not have park tickets for that day. we can rest or resort tour

Of course all the race entries are sold out. do people resell them on ebay?

I noticed that there are travel agencies associated with the race that can book hotels and tickets at a discount. Anyone ever done that? I saw Caribean Beach Resort at a good rate, only 26 more per night than All Star. DH does not want to stay at a value, would rather stay off site or at a moderate. I am thinking that the 26 more per night would be offset by the discount on park tickets and also the savings from using magical express instead of renting a car or using a shuttle.

just kind of trying to get a handle on this. normally we drive and bring food but the baggage fees are so high I am not sure I will bring more than granola bars in my luggage

We have not taken a trip without kids in 25 years, but the youngest will go to college in the fall and we want a trip for us. the cheap airfare maden the disney decision for us.

anyone with any thoughts on this? We just miss the free dining so that is not an option. Not sure we would want it anyone with the food and wine festival going on.

Really excited to get to do Halloween and Food and Wine in one trip, both were on my bucket list.

Hello my family will be going down a few weeks after you and your husband.
1. I don't think you will have a problem getting tickets for the Halloween party durning the week, there's so many of them they don't all sell out. I'd buy early if I was going on a weekend or Friday just in case. Disney is already selling the tickets you can go on there site and see the prices. Different days have different prices. It's a good idea to buy your tickets at least a day or two in advance so you can get a discount. It's only a few dollars but worth it to me.
2.sorry dont know nothing about the races
3. We actually stayed at CBR last year we liked it. And is worth the extra dollors to me. We never waited long for a bus 20min tops. Never had a problem with a cast member there. Was irritated that the park closed early and they put so many rocks around the fire you have to really stretch to cook a marshmallow. I suggest looking at the map and putting in a room request its a big resort.
4. Food and wine festival try going to it during the week or earlier in the day it gets really crowded on the weekends and Friday night so I've read while doing my research I've never been yet::yes::

The marathon doesn't effect the crowds in the park.
Watch for room discounts, they should be coming out soon.
Free Dining just got announced and room discounts into September. I am sure Oct. Nov. and Dec. room discounts will be coming out shortly.

Can you and your husband share Counter Service Meals? Me and my husband find the portions are huge. I always drink water and I will order an appetizer or the dessert and my husband orders the entre. We than split the meal. Many counter service at the Value's and Moderate's sell pizza. Just because you don't stay at a Value, doesn't mean you can't use their Food Court.

Garden Grocer will deliver food items, but I think they have a $15 delivery fee.
