Help me plan my park hopper day

We are planning to do one park hopper day at Disney this October. We currently have DHS park reservations, in hopes of getting on RotR. I'm starting to wonder if that's the wrong way to go about things. We really want to ride RotR, but if we can't get on it there isn't a ton of other things we'd want to do in DHS. DHS is typically a half-day park for us, or maybe even a 'couple of hours' park.

Current touring plan is rope drop DHS. Hopefully get a RotR boarding pass. Go directly to ToT, then RRC. Stop by Olga's.... and then it's stuff to fill the time until RotR. So maybe go for MMRR and SDD, build a light saber, MFSR (we've done it twice and aren't itching to do it again, but might as well), and a sit down meal.

Hop to EPCOT for Remi, Guardians (if possible) and some snacks. Hop to Animal Kingdom for EE and to see the tigers. Finally, end the day at MK with a must do list a mile long.

Star tours is out due to motion sickness. Muppets was fun the first 10 or 20 times but isn't a requirement. There aren't any shows...

I don't think there's any hope of RotR if we start anyplace but DHS (is that right?). If we don't get RotR, I'd rather start at another park and maybe skip DHS all together... Is there anyway to switch park reservations day of if you don't get RotR?

You can’t get a BG unless your reservation is for HS. You can’t join the queue if you hop into the park from elsewhere. Theoretically you could cancel the HS reservation if you miss out but you run the risk of no availability at the other park you want, which is something I’d be concerned about in October.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought there was no way to try for a BG without a reservation but I had hoped for a way to switch parks if I didn't get one. :(

Are you trying to hop to all three other parks in one day? That seems like a might tall feat unless they move up the park hopping time as well as bring back fastpasses.

We typically are a 4 parks in one day family. Generally, 2 hours in AK, 2 in DHS, 4ish in EPCOT, (nap), and the rest in MK. We've done in 4-in-a-day for the last few years. The shorter hours and no FP are going to be a challenge, but it's worth a try.

@Raya, guessing you know but just mentioning that park hopping doesn’t start until 2PM.

You have set a very ambitious hopping plan from 2PM to closing.
