I'm looking for some planning help from some of the veterans that have camped at FW before.....and there seems to be a lot of you!:goodvibes

Next year, DH and I will be meeting my parents and brother for a week at BWV, but DH and I will be at FW for two nights first. We are advid campers, we have never camped here before.

We are going to be getting in late our first night (like 8:00 - 10:00) so we are just going to set up the tent, grab or make some dinner and relax after our 12 hour drive. The next day we are going to grab some breakfast over at WL, maybe take the boat over the MK, ride the monorail and then come back to FW. We aren't doing and parks and after we return from breakfast, we don't plan on leaving the campground until we check out the next day.

So, we just want to do stuff around and FW and I'm hoping for ideas from the experienced FW campers on the best stuff to do. What shouldn't we miss and what's okay to skip? Thanks for your help!

Butter,

Most of my suggestions are nighttime ones. Others cost money - some are more expensive than others.

1. Attend the campfire/singalong
2. Watch the MK fireworks show from the FW beach
3. Watch the MK fireworks show from the Contemporary Resort outside deck that faces BLT (boat ride between FW and CR).
4. Attend a Hoop Dee Doo Review dinner show at Pioneer Hall.

Daytime would be pool time, looping, adding to your collection of (new) FW merchandise, fishing, canoeing, bike riding, and more. We did the Segway Tour at the Fort (it's expensive $100 per person as I recall for 2 hrs but fun) - sign up at the Bike Barn (one in the a.m., one in the p.m.).

Of course, if you want to go off the Fort, there is more to do too.

Thanks so much Bama Ed!

Even though we are old pros at WDW (I was even a CM in college) but we have never been to FW even for the day, so we are super excited for our first time there!

Well I was gonna make some suggestions but Bama ED nailed 'em!:thumbsup2

Happy Camping!

For a late arrival, but before 10 pm, I would recommend a GiddyUp And Go (or GAG) chicken dinner from Trails End. Good eatin'. But remember there isn't anywhere to park a car around there... just at your campsite or in the overflow lot near the Fort entrance. If you have a golf cart or bikes, I definitely recommend looping around the rest of the Fort to look for green DisBoard or purple FortFiend signs. These will be the people with the most Fort experience. Free internal busses will get you around the Fort, but will not enter individual loops. Enjoy, and do come back for a longer stay.
