Help me plan for rain!

We are going next week and now the forecase is showing rain every single day. I know the forecast this far in advance isn't so reliable, but I'm wondering if I should bring more than our ponchos and rain shields for the strollers.

Anything else that would help in the rain? I so hope the forecast changes!

Yes definitely get covers for strollers they will be a life saver keeping the kids and your stuff dry! Either get more durable ponchos or several cheap ones I also would get like a large 2 gallon ziplock bags to store the wet ponchos in when not in use! Most rides are indoors so there is still plenty to do have fun and keep rolling!

It seems the forecast is showing the highest chance on Monday and Wednesday, with Wednesday potentially having more sustained rainfall.

I will pack some large ziplocks for ponchos and princess dresses. Hopefully the one and off rain and higher chances of rain will lessen the crowds. Trying to look on the bright side!

I'll be going down next week too, don't put too much stock in a 10-14 day forecast though! I've been obsessively checking, but honestly, won't take it seriously until Saturday/Sunday when I check. I fly down on Monday and so much can happen with the forecast between now and then! I'll just be glad to get out of this 3 feet of snow.

When we went the first week of February last year we had two days that had a short shower in the afternoon. One of the days the only way we knew was that when we exited Enchanted Tales with Belle the ground was wet with some small puddles
Three days (thankfully two of those were our travel days) it rained all day. But the rain we experienced I would describe more like 'misting' LOL it really wasn't downpour type rain, the only reason it bothered me was because it was also chilly. It really wasn't that bad, ponchos were fine, I just really recommend dressing warm enough, the cold was the only part that bothered us

We just came back and spent last week in the parks. The forecast literally changed daily (sometimes several times a day) so as others said, I wouldn't put too much stock into things now but it is always nice to be prepared.

I tend to keep some of the dollar store/disposable ponchos in our bag regardless of what the forecast says just in case. We also always get the rain cover for the stroller. The only downside is they tend to be big on little ones and initially my 5yo was tripping over his. This works well for the quick shower but if you're looking at a day full of rain I'd probably suggest something a little nicer.

Luckily, out of 10 days last week (plus a few days ) we only encountered rain one morning heading to Chef Mickey's. I'm not going to lie - it was awful. The walk from the parking lot to the monorail station (about 10 min) in the wind, rain, and cold (upper 50s I believe) was really brutal and I am not sure if we would have been able to tour the parks like that. Luckily by the time we finished breakfast all the rain cleared out and we had sun the rest of the day. The rain didn't seem to have any affect on crowd levels (I've never experienced it having much of an affect personally, but then again we have been really lucky on weather knock on wood!)

We had a lot of rain last trip. I saw a family using a plastic shower curtain and clips to cover the stroller when they left it. I was impressed. Hadn't thought about that idea, but I plan on doing it! Since it is giant waterproof sheet, it takes a second to throw over the stroller so it doesn't slow you down at all.

If you have a stroller I would recommend buying a cover specific for your type of stroller. We have one for our Britax and it's been a lifesaver! It fits perfectly and it allows our son to ride in the stroller while it's covered.
Other than that become part of poncho nation... keeps you much dryer than an umbrella.

I also recommend getting a rain cover specific for your stroller. Ours worked like a charm and kept the kids drier then the adults! We also used a spare poncho to cover up the backpack hanging off the back of the stroller to keep that dry as well.
I strongly recommend packing some type of extra shoes. I got caught in one downpour during our trip last May and while my poncho kept me relatively dry my shoes were soaked even though I tried to keep them dry. I thankfully had a pair of flip flops that I packed for a water ride. My feet hurt at the end of the day but I was still glad not to have wet shoes.

We also tried to travel a little lighter on days that they were calling for rain so that we wouldn't have as much stuff that could get soaked.

Just wanted to add, don't let the rain worry you. We were in WDW ten days in September.(Our favorite trip to date)It poured 7 of the 10 days. We had a great time and the crowds just disappeared!!! Did we get wet, Yes, soaked actually. We had ponchos but our family somehow still manages to get wet wearing them. My hair was scary looking, but it was so much fun splashing in the puddles. Our girls favorite memory of the trip, playing with mom and dad in all the water. Have a great trip.

We got crushed last April( hoping this year is dryer) but we always have ponchos at the ready. But here's a few suggestions. In addition to ponchos and somewhere to put them, yes the stroller cover is a great idea but my wife couldn't justify 55$ for a Greco stroller cover so we used the shower curtain and clothes pins trick. I would take a few small ziplock bags for cell phones and things you want to keep dry. It rained so hard we for we through the ponchos. Walmart has kid sized ponchos I suggest them for your little guys and gals. Bring a towel or 2 to dry off and go with flip flops or some type of water shoes if it's pouring. You'll appreciate a change of clothes back at your car if u drive or under the stroller if you bus it.

I'm also going next week, February 5-8, for my birthday. Well, the day of my birthday says 90% chance of rain. Boo hoo! I've changed us over to Epcot instead of MK that day. I hope it's better for a rainy day. We only have 3 1/2 park days.

We are supposed to do the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party that night. They've assured me that fireworks still happen in rain, but not lightning. But wouldn't the terrace be uncovered? I have to cancel five days out--today--if I'm going to. What would you do?

It's me and my friend, no kids. How do we keep our feet dry!? It's going to be chilly. I've dealt with summer or Spring rain, never winter. Help!

If it was warm when raining, that would be fine, but it will be cold. Sigh......

We packed lots of dollar store ponchos (so you can just throw them out when you go inside). And our real raincoats for the days it seemed like it was going to be long term rain. Definitley bring extra shoes for going out later, no one wants to put soggy sneakers back on. A waterproof cell phone case is really helpful, too. I didn't have one last time and was jealous of those that did. I have one now . We went in September and it stormed every single afternoon, so we just tried to work around that and take our breaks then. Have fun!

So....of course I cancelled that hard to get reservation, and of course I never saw rain the entire trip! It was chillier thN I'd like though.

The good news for you is that "Rain" in the weather forecast in Orlando doesn't usually mean 'raining all day', usually it means 'showers' and in our experience that's usually in the afternoon. Usually when it starts to rain, we duck into the nearest ride building, ride that ride and by the time it's over, the rain has often stopped. If not, we just puddlejump around until we reach the next building and go in that one.

The only time we ever had a real issue was the time we were in Orlando during a tropical storm. It downpoured all day for about three days. We were very very wet, but we still had fun, it certainly didn't ruin our trip.
